Re: roortube's UrS6 Avant...now playing with Alfas

20161129_124850.jpg The Audis have been sitting for a while. I have the engine out of the UrQ for replacement with a built DOHC, either AAN other 07K. Over the Summer my wife's S6 broke the timing belt 30k early amd passed me off enough that I haven't touched it in 5 months. My S6 avant runs great ...

Re: roortube's UrS6 Avant...say hello to Eli!!!

Jim- The front end will feel like new;or better, but the rear has never been touched. That's next. I'll do all the poly from AK first (I still have the Apikol center diff mount that did a few thousand miles on my last UrS car sitting on the shelf). Then it's time to consider proper damping. I really ...

Robs S6 Avant...front suspension overhaul

It's been a long term since I've updated this thread, mostly because I've just been driving the shit out of this car and loving it. The front fenders are rustier, the headliner sags more, but it still runs great.

Two weeks ago it had it up for an oil change and did my customary once over. I found ...

Use VEMS to trigger individual coils. The VAG 2.0t coils work well and are cheap/readily available.

I need to do my rear brakes. If these brackets allow the stock calipers to fit under stock 16" Fuchs UrS4 wheels, I'll take a set.

I know I'm late to the game here, and it may not work for you, but...

Last year I got an in cylinder pressure transducer for my Verus...it has become the single most valuable tool that ai own for diagnosing engine performance issues. I use it for many things, most relevant to your cam timing issues ...

Re: Matt's 1995 Casablanca Urs6 Build!

At first I was looking at RTs that were less than stellar. Then ETS that were not bad. Then I watched again and saw the "without launch part" and 120+mph...this thing is moving at the top end. I can't wait to see more boost and with launch. If nothing breaks this should be a low 11 sec car. Great ...

I think you'd need a way to introduce the N2o progressively...a big shot at once could produce dangerous recoil on a saw.

Those things are pure awesome. I've always thought they were the perfect platform for nitrous as a power adder. Relatively simple and light weight for the extra power.

Re: Head grounding on the AAN

I had a no start caused by a bad engine block ground (the one near the starter) about a year ago. Since I'm lazy, I just grounded one of the studs for the heat shield above the exhaust mani to the strut brace. Fixed the no start. Then I had the car dyno tuned at EFIx.

I had the engine out a month ...

Re: Ryan's 95.0 s6 project/build

Unfortunately not. I've been working a lot lately, so every minute I have off is spent with family, working on the house, or getting my M5 prepped for sale. I enjoy the first two, the last one sucks, but my wife wants a garage space, and I'm not selling the UrS or the Lotus, and we only have a 3 car ...

Moderate power delivery through and out of a turn is better with a torsen rear. High power launches break torsens. It depends on intended use.

Re: Leather Seats Care

I'm restoring and recolor in the seats in my M5 with leatherique. The prestine clean and conditioner are the shit. I used the conditioner on the seats in my wife's 02 S6, which have gone unconditioned for a couple years, and 90% of the creases are gone. Apply it on a warm day and leave the car in ...

Sweet deal on the Verus. We got one about 5 years ago with the fully loaded cart...cost about 10x what you paid. It's made its cost twenty fold or more since. Awesome tool to have.

Re: cutting and lowering factory spring perch?

Aside from lost travel and a soft spring I dont see why it wouldnt work. Just make sure your bump stops are good so it doesnt bottom out. You could also use some of Haydn's strut towers i. Bis secton on here, but they cost more than zero.

My motor has been pushing oil out of the seals since it was new. Recently, my clutch slave took a dump, and now the clutch is slipping. Time for the motor to come out for a reslea and new disc. Ive been running an 034 catch can setup for UrS cars, and would like to design a better PCV system to ...

I spoke to Hank about compound turbos for my upcoming 07K ubild for the UrQ. Its a cool idea, but very much more complex. I got the feeling that he's a bigger fan of a properly sized EFR with a quick spool valve.

I get that on cold start too...just exhaust soot (rich mixture on boost) coming out with the water that condenses in the exhaust as it cools off. Nothing to worry about.
