After seeing the post I emailed the owner. The email address looked extremely familiar but didn't know from where.
Once I received a reply from the owner stating the vehicle was available, I noticed (in gmail) that I had previous conversation thread had been in my inbox since 2009. Turns out it's the same person I bought Rubi from... YAY! (soo far soo good)
What I knew is that the vehicle had been sitting (like Rubi was when I purchased her) as he was in the Medical field and used his bicycle and public transport more than the car itself. Said he purchased it already as a stroker. Did not have details on what the parts included were, but
It had my interest as it could have some worthy bits inside.
After discussing some more details about the vehicle I promptly board on a flight to go pick this thing up and drive it back north to my area (North of Boston).
Handed over the funds, grabbed the paperwork and left...
With the time I had on my hands I did some digging around on the interwebs in search for more information on what the exact history on this vehicle was. All I knew was that it was built by Peter Blaser and that the previous owner before the person I purchased it from was from my neck of the woods, New Hampshire. He also showed me some for sale ad that had a vehicle with a similar build.
The last picture with that catch can was the dead giveaway of something I've never seen until this car and that car .
Dug around some more and found the Avant owner and contacted him to get an idea if both cars were indeed put together by Peter.
As it turns out, that Avant also had spent some time with Marc at EFI and had since reverted back to being a 2.2L car. He was also nice enough to forward Peters direct email. So naturally I set out to find out from the source what exactly this thing had internally for hard parts.
Finally got a reply from him and as I would suspect his memory would naturally be hazy after building this thing over a decade ago. He did however mention that:

Silver wagon - His own until 2008 then went to Brian Miller
Red wagon - Bob Pastore
Black sedan - Bryan Lockwood
I had a youtube video of a red sedan doing a 12.1s quarter mile. I didn't put that one together, but I did send them some parts, but that was so long ago... I'd guess there are about 8 of them in running condition in the country right now.
When first asked what the combo used for the internals are he replied:
It is a 144mm forged rod.
The pistons are forged aluminum and sit down 2mm from the deck. I didn't like this because I was told how important the quench area was in these engines. However, they seem to work fine.
The compression ratio is 8.5:1.
* 83mm = 2584cc
He then sent me some "notes" from when the run of parts where ordered... Apparently there was a group buy of 5. Three were assemble by him the other 2 were for customers to assemble. Told me each build came out to $4,000 and these were the options Eurospec had at the time:

So using some backwards math an assembled block was:

He replied:
I think they are the shot-peened rods. They were completely assembled short blocks. They did not look at all like Audi rods.
And sent pics of when he did the build in his shop.
So it looks as though this vehicle has slightly changed since it's left it's hands... but as it stands these are the known/verified parts as it stands

General Maintenance has already commenced at "when I have time" basis.
But cosmetically it needs bumpers and a hood.
Mechanically I'm sorting out some weird electrical bugs. I hope the harness hasn't nested a home for rodents since it was sitting for soo long.
I have 14v at the battery and alternator but only 12v at the ECU, so I need to get to the bottom of that as it has some weird symptoms under WOT.
The vehicle came with stacks of maintenance work that was done to it that go back 7 years mostly from Marc at EFI which made me feel better about most of the history.
Apparently over time these builds were known for oil consumption because somehow the pistons used sat 2mm under the deck making the overall piston not tall enough to remain straight in the bore at BDC. So I'll deal with that with a simple piston swap from FRP at some point. Before then I should already know if it has stock rods or not as well and act accordingly.
The Goal?
Capitalize on the already 95.5 stroke and max out the turbo if it indeed has rods that could support a full e85 tune.
Logs show 75% Injector DC as is I currently have it on Pump/Meth 28psi. So I might still have some room to play with ethanol. I've swapped in the proper pump and FlexFuel sensor to eventual have a variable map. I Stroked smaller turbo build with a broad powerband for daily use is what this is gonna be... hence the start of a PhatPhiveHundredWhp Build on this UglyUr.
