New 3" SS exhaust arrived yesterday thanks to Alloutofdonuts. Have to weld in a couple v-bands and fab up a new y-pipe. Pics to come when I unbox it after moving.

And apparently Hagerty doesn't deem a 95 Audi 90 a collector vehicle :( So I guess it'll stay on my normal car insurance...we'll see if I can get an agreed value on it so I don't get screwed if it were in an accident. No problems with the Porsche or Merc though.

Check out your slab before you put in a two-post lift- from what I have seen most normal garage floor slabs don't meet the minimum spec. in thickness or strength.

You could make some "feet" out of some 2" or so thick slabs of plate steel. Drill some holes and check the thickness before you do anything.

Well, Grundy was a joke. I mailed them an application for the Audi and Merc (you can't really do any of it online, you have to print/mail in the application and pictures). 4 weeks later I finally get a response...

Declined due to:
1.) Cars not collectible (I could see the Audi as not, that's what Haggerty said; not sure how Jim got them to agree)
2.) Cars not garaged....Are you kidding me? I said they were both in a locked garage, which they are. Maybe because I took the pictures in the driveway they thought they aren't garaged?
3.) Not all househould drivers listed...I live by myself, I don't know where they got that information. I listed myself as the only driver.
4.) Cars not restored...That was never listed as a requirement.

Wish it would've worked out as they were 1/3 the cost of Haggerty (who also won't insure the Audi). Guess I'll keep shopping...

Seeing as how you meet or exceed Grundy's qualifications I'd just argue with them or escalate to someone who can actually make a decision.

I'd even argue the collector's status of the B4, considering they imported less of them than the Cq.

As far as my landlord goes, when I asked him if I could install a lift his response was "I want one too! Can you get a two for one deal?"
He's coming over next week to help me plan out where to put it in the garage (after I get some stuff cleaned up).

Got a longer bit and a proper hammer drill (not the shitty attachment on my Craftsman cordless). Couldn't tell exactly where it bottom out with a depth gauge, so out came the new borescope! Pad is 5"! Plenty more than the 3.5-4" minimum.

sweet! glad you don't have to do anything to the pad for a lift. Mine was only 2.5-3" so no lift for me... yet.

Can you snap a pic of the trigger wheel setup? My coupe setup is going to be a whole lot like yours.

I've finally sourced a bunch of things and am set on a direction.
ABH witb ABZ valve covers and coils
ABZ intake (thanks again for the info on the conversion)
Fidanza flywheel with 034 crank bushing adapter.

i believe VEMS will be my best option since I don't have an ABZ cam sensor setup (or the exhaust cams that drive it) or a 60-2 ring on the flywheel to run the A8 ECU I have. Plus why spend $700 on the chip and immobilizer when VEMS will be a bit more but way more versatile and reusable on a later project if this one fails.

Anyway, I'd love to know what the crank trigger setup is and get your thoughts on it.

It's the 034 crank trigger wheel and holder that mounts to the serpentine pulley. I can't wait to ditch it with a flywheel trigger when I swap in the 01E

Best is flywheel trigger for the v8,but the crank can be made to work. I had nothing but problems on mine with 034, hope it is better with VEMS.

Triumph C7000 from National Auto Tool. It's pretty much a maxjax on steroids

Yeah, the posts are a little taller and heavier, but the lift cylinder doesn't protrude out the top like the MaxJax. It's rated for 7000lbs and 72" lifting compared to the MaxJax's 6000lbs and 48" lift.
They originally shipped them last year with wheels, but they had to take it off the market for about 6 months due to a lawsuit from Danmar (the MaxJax maker). Earlier this year they put it back up for sale without the wheels. They still have the holes in the columns, so it'll be easy to make some brackets and mount wheels on the posts.
The posts are 7' 11", so it'll fit with 8' ceilings. It's actually only 6" taller than the MaxJax at a full 48" lift since the cylinders come out the top of the posts on it.
It also has a lot more locking positions than the MaxJax, which I think only has 2.
