Keeping the stock return, but going -8an on the feed... If anyone knows of or has done business with a good vendor(other than the typical Summit/Jegs) that stocks quality PTFE lines and compatible fittings any BTDT would be appreciated. Particularly having a tough time sourcing that banjo with a -8an hose outlet. All I find is -6an ...

A while back I ordered a fuel line kit with -8AN feed from 034 and returned it out of frustration trying to find the sender fitting. They were kind enough to accept the return of a custom kit. Thanks. Then Ed did his dual loop set up and I feel that is clearly genius and the way to go. That's what I plan on doing if I ever choose to go dual fuel.

I hear you, but I'm a single pump type of guy... Simple, clean, easy to diag & quiet... If pump isn't up to snuff, swap in bigger pump, at least the lines will already be there.

So wait, the 034 Fuel Line "kit" didn't include that sender fitting?... Which kit was this?

Looks like they now include the fitting now Rob... I truly didn't even think at looking on the 034 site,.. in fact I felt a little lost now with the newer layout... Now I just have to find out if the hose used in that kit is a PTFE Teflon based hose for e85 use...

we have to do a big single -8 line upgrade on a coupe next week. same fitting on the top of the tank as I recall. If you'd like I'll order double on the parts. dont ask for a price yet as I haven't pulled the parts list together.

On the -8 banjo, worst case we can make one, it wouldn't be that hard to fabricate.

the other way to go is a really simple surge tank setup. most of the big flow pumps out there are external/inline. your current in tank pump feeding a 1L surge tank with the return lines plumbed back to the surge would be more than adequate.

Seeing that they're both viable options, I might just upgrade the line as there's an an associated cost of going the FMST route, it's Christmas time unfortunately... Yup B.O.A.T.... If I was gonna go FMST(Front Mount Surge Tank) I wouldn't have upgraded my intank and kept my healthy stock one in to feed the FMST. For sake of science, I really wanna see if how well this fuel arrangement works... In the end if it does, it'll be a sub $400 fueling option for those looking at 500whp on e85 in the most simplistic form using our already huge 18.5 gal "surge tank."

I know you don't have that banjo figured out yet, but do you have an idea if the lines you're planning on using are Teflon based?

it depends on your horsepower goals. I'd argue that over 600whp e85 on my dyno is nearly impossible with any of the commercially available in-tank pumps.

I'm pretty sure we piece together even bigger race ready -10 Fuel Line kits with PTFE lined hoses and fittings for about the same if we can source the exact needed banjo...

You don't need PTFE lines. Get some Nitrile lines from summit/etc - they are perfectly fine to run with E85 and far cheaper

ptfe lines are required by a lot of sanctioning bodies when the fuel lines run INSIDE THE CABIN. even on my CQ racecar I'm running the non-ptfe earl's perform-flex outside the cabin, the stuff is great

I've been around some cars with SS lines where it emotes a certain smell/aroma of fuel, with "no actual leaks." Whenever I've asked I've been told it's the lines... never asked why or the type of lines used. Could indeed be a leak somewhere that they were unaware of...

I have to agree with the SS line smelling a little. If you crawl under my car and take a wiff near the braided line running the length of the car, it has a hint of fuel smell to it. I can't remember which brand I used, probably a cheaper Summit variety due to the length required.

Jim is your car still in daily status? You're not running e85 yet, right?

I could drive it daily, but have the a6 for that. I will always keep the primary fuel 91 pump since I regularly drive 200-500 miles to the track. So yes, it's pump gas I smell.

I have zero fuel smell anywhere in my engine bay, and there is a lot of braided hose and AN fittings. E85 only.

The hose all came from Marc or Summit.

Perhaps a long 20ft run from tank to the bay makes it more noticeable than having it all contained underhood... Or maybe it's petrol based fuels that trigger this over time...
