just whenever it's done RIGHT!!!

Following the old adage:
"Reliability comes from the bottom end"
"Power comes from the head"

Bottom just needs to be assembled and now just working the small bits needed in the head. Trying to do things within my reach while I'm in there...
She might not see Carlisle, though... I will be bringing some bits if I can't sell them before hand... RS2 Manifold, k26/54trim t04e, Water Lines, Stromung Gen 3 DP, and Euro A6 Tails with License Filler plate are just some of the things that come to mind... Would be sweet to get those out to fund my much needed/last piece of the puzzle... ie. IMS goodies...

ETA should be within 30 Days...

Just got a call from "Dennis" (turbo rebuilder at PTE)... looks like all is on Schedule for the rebuild.... Should be coming in mid next week! It was nice to hear from the rebuilder himself... I feel reassured in my decision to deal with Precision... Anyhow ETA's are as follows:

Block Assembly by this weekend, while head gets the seats cut for +.5mm Intake & Exhaust...
Valves should be in by Friday, any delay of reassembly early next week will only be brought up by the condition of the guides...
Turbo arrival should be around Wednesday, when then the hotside will be shipped to Hank for proper fitment of PTE V-Band hotside (which differs from Tial V-Band)
Which will then possibly sit until after Carlisle to be shipped together with my Manifold & Downpipe Combo Pack!

I am still lacking a decision on the wastgate situation...

Lots of late night and early labor for me ahead...

Tial wastegate is an easy decision. You're already v-banding everything and building a nice motor, don't skimp on a couple hundred dollar wastegate. It is a much much better wastegate than than old audi unit, not to mention packaging constraints/looks/v-band/etc

I went Tial over 4 hours ago... No disputes here over fit, finish, quality ect... Though the Precision 46mm is really sweet too...

And off we go onto block assembly... Weird things are happening at my job, the gave me another day off today. Hopefully it's not a bad sign, but regardless I can use the much needed time....

Looking at the block, it could use some dressing up... Any tips out there for painting cast iron on a budget?

Clean the junk off and get some engine block spraybombs from the FLAPS?

Any particular brand you've had luck with?.

I also have a needle scaler, think that'll do the trick?

needle scaler is perfect for that... clean it, tape if off, and hit it with a couple coats of engine enamel.

2 good things:

1) Work in progress
Image

2)Turbo is finished and will be shipped tomorrow morning...

1 bad thing:
The Watergate provider commended me on finding the hidden link to their Black Friday 3day sale.

That sale has been cancelled...

I will be purchasing thru Iroz Motorsports

Very true. But keep in mind forum members go by it as well for recognition of others... Unfortunately, though, you didn't wanna play that game here on the Pad.. Which had me a little confused...

Long day, lacked energy needed to express my thought... Was trying to say that "Dave" uses another username on other forums but decided not to here on the Pad... And this confused me...

Ahhh, good morning...
