Google pic says the 276mm diam. (S2 and V6) discs have a total height of 56.23mm. So, subtract about 5 or 6 mm for offset?

Might work. The Boxster S calipers will need the equivalent offset. Should be manageable.

So the boxsterS calipers have a larger pad surface area.

Yes, and can take larger and thicker rotors. So, the 323mm rotors I linked to earlier should fit.
Everything else is the same. Seemed to me from the Pelican thread that the consensus is that the S calipers are worth it.

They also brought up the matter that brake fluid should be changed annually. If you track the car, it makes a big difference.

I have no experience with this, but when I have the cash, I will replace the fluid om my S6. I have never changed it. :hide:

speedo still dont work, so im not too sure. prolly somewhere in the 120-130 range. last year i was hitting the traps at the track and barely having to kiss 4th gear while doing so, and the car was going 133-137 each pass.

another option, reading on S2 forums. its a bit small of a rotor at 305mm, but the hat height is pretty much the exact same as a stock b390q20v rotor as well as the center hole. rotor comes off an 04 Volvo S60.

Height 50.29mm
Center Hole 68mm
Diameter 305mm

Also, 2011 A5 could be another option

Diameter 319.78mm
Height 52.06mm
Center Hole 68mm

right, im past that point totally, because redrilling the rotor isnt too terrible of a task. the A8 rotors that i first listed are doable, as per what Jim said on the last page...even if they are 10 hole, but im just looking for other possible options. i just found a few more as well, so im going to just make a spreadsheet and post it later to make it less confusing.

I am just not hot on the redrilling. If I can avoid it... well.

I trust the shop guys over here with many things, but modifying brakes?
I don't want to be going 180kmh+ slamming on the brakes and it go bang.

The pads are not significantly larger between the boxter and boxter S calipers, the big difference is the size of the rotors. The boxter S/996 caliper (they are the same except color) is the standard bbk upgrade, so it is a good call and has a ton of pads available. For reasonable prices.

im going to keep digging and adding to that list what i find thats close. the center hole and height is really the two main issues that need to be semi close to be considered possibly workable.

stock 996/boxsterS rotors are 318mm (?), is that the number we should be trying to be getting when using those calipers in our setups?

Buy 4D0615301J, re-drill and be done with it. You will not find an easier solution unless you buy an aftermarket 2-piece rotor from 034 or someone.

Yes, and don't forget redrilling is a safe and accepted practice because the studs don't actually transfer the majority of load to the brake disc. The load is primarily transferred via the large friction force supplied by the clamping of the rotor between the wheel and the hub.

Can you not get mk1 ford focus RS rotors over there? I dunno if you guys got the RS.

But they are 4x108, 65mm bore so can be machined out to 68mm, height is 52mm, 28mm thick and 324mm diameter.. thats what im planning on using in the near future.

made at test and tune this past wednesday night. got my best et from last year and my best mph all in one pass, the first one of the night. i need to learn how to launch the car, because as youll see in the videos its apparent that i cannot. drove it back on the trailer, so it was fun time. oh, 32psi compared to the 38 we were running last year to get the times i did. so the car is hauling this year, especially up top.

thanks! but its not where its got to be for me to be happy with it yet. we gotta go 10.x's on street tires. then move onto drag radials, and really do some work.
