Are we supposed to feel sorry for you having to make decisions like this??
I expect your car to be fender flared and painted by BBQ.
Darin, you can always come and help move things along. I will provide the body filler, sandpaper, beer, pizza and spiderman.

Funny thing is, my wife and kids were just down at Newport and Huntington while I had to stay and work. I would have loved to have come down and helped out!

Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's
Slowly making progress,
Here is a better picture of the steering arm setup

Now on to something different, I need to transition the bumpers to the fenders, so I decided to make a quick copy of the lower half that I can use as a starting point. First step was to get my hands on some good epoxy based resin. This stuff is great to work with, the pumps are awesome for mixing. One pump of each gives the perfect mixture. I guess my car is part boat now

Next, I covered the part in foil and waxed it. I don;t care about the wrinkles, I just need the basic shape

Looks like something I can work with, nice and flexible and the shape I need to build from.

I finally got the balls to start welding on the fender.

Some final touches, so I have a spot to fasten the fender liner to. Yes, fender liners!

I moved to the rear and put in one of the billet arms. I think they will work 8) How many 034 products can you spot?

As the car sits now, I actually feel like it's starting to come together even though it may not look like it at the moment

Hey Jim,
Looking great
One thing I notice is that the rear LCA and tie rod are both flat, the tie rod looks slightly under flat meaning you will get toe out bump under compression as I am sure you know. If possible can you lower the outer end of the control arm and tie rod a bit?

Yep, the shiny parts really show off the problem. This would be the solution, then flip the tie rod to the other side of the arm, but at $260 a pair it is a bit hard to swallow, and it puts the ball joint into the heat shield. I am sure they will make their way into the car eventually, but not this round.

Why is there not a realistically priced option out there for these ball joint extenders?!!
Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's
this thing looks awesome man!
i wanted to do something like this with my 90 one day. i was looking into using the 'g60' fender flares off of a mk2 vw though, because those actually fully taper down near the bottom of the wheel arch.

This one time i built an...|-|Audi 90Q|-|2L20v|-|6765|-|Lugtronic|-|Street Tires|-|E85|-|10.7@136|-|...but then i parted it all out

OK fine 8)
I am really happy with the way this is turning out. With any luck I will be able to start on body filler Monday.
