So did you just cut that rear out of an urS4? Looks good.audifreakjim wrote:Here is a teaser for the rear, the rear wheel needs to go way back. There are giant slabs of billet yummyness coming soon to help relocate the wheels

Not much flare on the rear or an Ur-S4. All 4 flares here are from the front fenders of an Ur-S4.

I have a feeling this is going look fantastic!! The rear of the b3 90 is so wimpy, especially with a b4 front end on it. Your car is going to look as mean as it actually is finally!

Picked up Varia's S2 Rear bumper, and meet Jakethrake today. :woowoo:
The B3 would have been way too much work to fit. The S2 is also lower which matches what is happening with the rest of the car.
First look is it's way too short..
Or is it? It just needs a little flare extension
This shows how much more flare the ur-s fender provides
Here is another pick of the side skirts in their final location. Now I can start welding things up to match.
BTW, I always thought that guy that converted a B3 to an RS2 sedan was nuts so I don't know what you call all of this!

Looks great! Good luck making it all come together.
Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's
I think you call it CRAZY......but way cool also. I like the looks and a lot of rubber to put down that +400whp will be nice.

I love how MGers are the most impatient people ever. I met Jim today at lunchish in Orange, and these pics were posted before the sunset. I cant wait to see the final product. Ill bring the V8 down your neck o the woods soon. Cheers!

Jim, you are an animal. I did notice on Facebook today that 034s billet control arms are now available!! I see what you mean about the rear wheel location looking at those pictures.

Yep, they are out now. The unfortunate thing is the wheels are moving back, and about 50 less lbs with the new bumper in the rear is goin to throw off balance even more. Oh well.

Lol, when you know where every bolt on the car is, it doesn't take long to get it apart.jakethrake wrote:I love how MGers are the most impatient people ever. Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's
I think for my next track day, I am going to do the Ferrari F1 trick and weld a bracket to the rear subframe that supports 250lbs worth of lead or metal plate down low
Sure, the polar moment will suffer a bit, but it would be nice to have more weight back there. It isn't like our cars lack the power. Turning up the boost a couple more psi can offset the weight!!
Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's
Build light and balance with ballast in the right places; sounds right!
Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's
I really think I am going to. The Plate brackets are going to double up as the pick up points fo my hitch so I can pull my Lago car to the track with my URQ.
Okay, maybe just a trailer to lug R comps and a spare transmission to the track
Re: Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's
Jim... your car is freakin inspiring man! I love it. I think it is going to be sexy as hell once you nail down these fenders and get it on the road!

Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's
Too busy to type, just wanted to get a pic out there:)
I have a camry with a broken radiator, an a6 with a broken radiator fan. The 90 got put back into commission at midnight to drop the wife's car off at the repair shop and a front tie rod snapped in the parking lot where they crimp together.
Rented a car to drive to LA for work, then went back to fix the yellow one.
It turns out the shop it broke in front of, was the same shop that did the GMG short wheelbase urq for that dude in Dubai. He welded my tie rod up so I could get home. It seems like a good shop, and may even let them take a swing at finishing these fenders
Ironic that I have new tie rods ready to install in the garage, I I had only welded up the strut housings.
It's been fun owning old cars this week!

The strut housings are the same ones Haydn is running on the S4k project
