Catch Can oil leak Issue

Post by Zaworek »

hello

as you can see on the picture i have the following setup. if the car is driven at boost the catch can leaks oil fromt the went with the red cloth, which then is spray all over in the engine bay from the blow from the radiator fan and also from wind that goes thru the radiator. when the catch can is checked ,open there is no accumulated oil inside.
I wonder how you guys have setup the catch can on your 20vt.

The crack vent along with the valve cover are connect to the input on the catch can and the drain from catch can is run back to oil engine black where turbo oil return line goes in. Any ideas are welcome to solve this issue.

I usually pipe that down and under the car into the tunnel. The fumes are never smelled in the engine bay again. I didnt have much coming out of that, however. Just an oil mist that smelled bad.

I didn't even run it that far, I think i dumped mine right out behind the front subframe. It didnt leave any visible oil on the underside of my car, and the smell was eliminated. I really do not like that smell.

whatever you do, make sure that you maintain large diameter venting from that point forward. the engine has to breathe all crankcase ventilation through there.
