So, maybe I missed it but what did you do to get back up and running again? Fresh rebuild, or running motor swap?

I put a 20v in it... ;)

was running just hot enough to baloon the tip (base timing was off), so we went to swap egt sensors and had to break it to get it out. the old tip came out with the bung, so all good there.

decent numbers, better when the clutch situation is resolved. I'll let OB give the full report.

Yeah, I'd never own an Allroad after reading your thread, yikes... Everything is most certainly fine other than that slipping SB4 still....

Just came in from driving this thing for over 2hours... I didn't want to stop...

Guessing game anyone?....
What do you get when you get a simple rod swapped build on E85 tuned at 24psi with a slipping clutch at torque peak?

Post your whp and wtq figures on Marcs dyno(not sure if it reads higher or lower than Hanks)...

Tomorrow I'll reveal the details...

In retrospect I should have looked longer for an S avant. I hope at some point the allroad will become reliable. Who knows where that point is in terms of money and sanity though.

I'm guessing 428whp. Just to one up Ed's 29psi 30r pump gas tune :)

Didn't you have a 23psi car with 57mm/76mm comp wheel on pump? I have a graph on pump as well at 24psi... what's your guess?

360 whp for 24 psi on pump and slipping clutch

So you have a SB stage 4 (SB4?) and it's slipping? That sucks. I knew I should have upgraded even more than the stage 3! Then again, my stock clutch was doing just fine on my H1C.

Clutch Situation
There are other variables I'm investigating... Clutch did not EVER slip before I swapped in a refinished DM flywheel on my last rebuild... (idiot move, I know) I should've left those 2 guys alone. Then while the new flywheel began mating up to the disc, my PS rack was leaking right into the bellhousing making matter worse and harder to diag... Remember I did manage 1.7 60ft at the strip while slipping up top...
Consesus is that many SB4's have handled way more power with EASE(Marcel) and the culprit could be other things... Bleed the lines, check slave cylinder, ect... clutch has 10k on it... at the moment is slips past 23 psi and at an undisclosed WTQ level (undisclosed till later that is)

Tune is set up for 24psi to see if hopefully the surfaces eventually mate, Ferramic has this ability to "heal"...

But even so, I think that figures are decent considering this hurdle. Things (spool, power, response) can only get better once this is resolved...

Nice, I thought there might be another variable or two in the mix. Good to hear.

Nope...
a) Fueling had headroom galore on both fuels (expected, -8an on 450lph pump running 24psi boost)

b)Cylinder head loved Ignition advance of +10* over the normal +7*-8* above a pump map (she flows well on 7a cams and .5mm valves at this psi)

c)Couldn' t get it to knock on the .82 housing on the pump tune at all (headroom for more boost later?, .64 did slightly, but that was also before finding out my almost 2 teeth off on timing = EGT's through the ROOF, leading to a dead probe)
Remember the glowing header at Carlisle?

d)No Leaks Fluid of any kind

e) Slight hint of a little smoke (too be expected, but the rings are new, so perhaps a little wear on the turbo seals due to running it as hot as it did last summer) I've got an easy solution for that already in the works tho ;)

F) These runs were in 90*F dyno area ambient temps, so a 60*C IAT killed a little of the fun at the end of the day as it sat stationary on the hubs (will improve on the street)

My car did 360whp with 23psi on 94 octane, no meth. 3076 cast wheel with .82 hotside. 7a cams, stock head otherwise.

This one?
Image

We managed 374whp at 23.5psi but on 93 using a .82 hotside, 90*F ambient,... I was expecting it to be a lot lagier than your 30r, since this is a 35r sized turbine on long tube headers vs your short runner log style setup, but they're surprisingly similar :) .
Marc said it sounded clean through the headphones, so I'm sure theres still room there.... but you can see the clutch isn't happy...
