big power pavics said it woulda been awesome if i suction cupped the gopro to that window and it flew off. its a damn shame too because i was going to either put it on that window or on the rear of the car looking back, and i chose the latter.

Yeah, I hear you on the cost of a real diff, but a 250$ torsen+ 1000$ rebuilt 01e = cost of wavetrac that won't destroy your transmission when the spider gears chuck out the side case and into the pinion, and hopefully keep enough shit out of your gearset to not destroy your updated parts, plus gear sets! A little bit of a gamble, but the odds are not in your favor. Wavetrac has a contained case that keeps the bits in the diff even if it does come apart.

i will have to see what funds will allow. remember, im only trying to go fast in a straight line. so its highly unlikely i will be lifting a tire going hard into a corner and then slamming it back down.

ya, sadly that seems to be the trend...cant break the barrier without breaking some parts, lol. im not too upset about it. the trans was bought used for a STEAL, and the guy whom i got it from said that the 2-3 shift grinded when blasting away, that i never even noticed to be honest. next spring we will have a fresh trans with some custom mods and hopefully we can go .5 faster with the same boost just from being able to shift the car faster alone, oh and having a clutch in there that will put the power to the ground. good news i guess there is that the 255 street tires didnt seem to be the weak spot as far as traction is concerned, the clutch was.

driving/launching habits break axles, power doesnt.

I </3 01E! Grrr
Awesome runs man! You've still got a lot more 60ft in it too. I cut a 1.62 at LVD in my heavier, less power B5 on crappy 225-45-17 street tires.
Hopefully I can see it run next year if you're back up to LVD.

absolutely man, im still learning the best way to launch the car. id be happy if i could get down to 1.6 consistent 60s on street tires. maybe some 1.5's if im super lucky. LVD test and tune will be the first track it hits next spring as long as they dont try and not let me run since i went 137 first hit last month and the next pass around the guy in the waterbox told me to slow it down.
cars got alot more boost left in it for 3rd and 4th gear too, so im sure once we get back out there next spring with the boost .vs. rpm setup we will be able to keep power out of it down low and really crank away on it up top. low low 10's is the overall goal for the car on the same tires i drive it to local meets on, then after that if my heart so desires...drag radials, or dependent upon HOW low in the 10s i can get it, attempt to get it in the high 9s on true street tires. we will see, we've got some nifty ideas for how to control boost .vs. vehicle speed that we will setup this winter, and it should be good. gotta pul apart that 01e and rebuild it with the updated 1-2 collar and im sure that will help me out alot too, because you can see even on the 10 second passes, i wasnt really able to rip back that 1-2 like i wish i could have.

Considering the potential of this car, are you going to get it certified for 9.99 and/or 135+? You are real close.

technically he already needs to get it cert'd. and driver physical. and a neck brace, boots, pants, gloves, window net, trans blanket/shield, parachute, and NHRA license.
the >135 twice does it for him.
and if you do it, have your cage certed at or later (but still close) to your physical. that is the date they go by. the physical.

it really all depends on how it works out. next spring, will the car go over 135 consistently, absolutely. it does now and we have alot more ++++ button to hit on the boost duty cycle map. now heres the thing, does englishtown care about that? ive seen my fwd buddies got 150, a few runs THEN they say something. could i get away with going in the low 140's and just not really get my balls busted, i could...or maybe i couldnt. Lebanon Valley, which is much closer to me for say test and tune nights, they said something to me as soon as i went over 130, it really depends on the track.
could the cage get a chassis cert, im pretty sure it could...the welds arent THAT bad, lol. but other then that, id have to sit down and add up what all the other safety stuff costs. i thought a chute was for 150+ aaron?
aside from that, then i have to line up making the license passes....which as aaron knows could be a pain in the ass.

the gear is a fair chunk of change....
the parachute, i just looked and they fixed the error. it used to say 135mph in the quick reference chart at the back of the book, now it correctly reads 150.

so, the general consensus here on ditching the front and rear sway bars & associated hardware? figured weight saved here is weight saved, and the car is setup/built to only go fast in a straight line. even when i take it out on the street i dont go blast away around turns.

i like my car without them....ditching just the front bar but having something on the back is fun too, but sometimes a bit to tail happy.....and you have some SERIOUS power to keep under wraps.

my thing is, are they even serving a purpose for when im just going balls to the wall in a straight line?

i dont think so.....if you are 'swaying' enough for them to offer any resistance while drag racing i would say you would be wildly out of control. Does your car torque to one side when you launch? Only thing i could see them helping is keeping it from lifting a front wheel on a hard launch.
