In my work, refinery construction/maintenance, this mixture is viewed as a poor man's substitute for proper Aerokroil. But... aside from the noxious chemical smell, I like it better. It's cheap and easy to obtain. And due to the high surface tension, you can spray it on a vertical bolt and it doesn't immediately drip off the way most penetrant oils will.88a5tq wrote:I read around and put the turbo in a plastic bucket and poored a 1:1 mix of acetone and ATF on the seam and sealed it up for the night. Supposedly it will seep in there and release everythimg.
At any rate, keep some around for general usage at a later date. You'll be surprised how much better it works than your garden variety WD40 or PB Blaster to loosen seized bolts.
