Just confirmed that my pump is 150bar and the spare v6 (from a 90 or cabriolet) is 100 bar
I wonder if I just disabled one of the three sets of Pistons on the v8 pump if it would reduce it properly

After a bunch more research I figured out a few things (and thanks to Doug for his pics and guidance!)
The best option is to replace the V8 150 bar pump with a smaller pump from a cabriolet. It's 100 bar like the coupe's pump is and the coupe rack is built to use but it doesn't have the provision for the brake bomb.
As for the bracket, there is one that holds the smaller C4 and B4 V6 pumps (thought the C4's are 120 bar)
It's part number 077 260 885d

So I went to the junkyard today and pulled a B5 1.8T hose that I'll need to have rebuilt on the rack end for the install.
Can't wait to get this behind me!

While I patiently wait for the new rack bracket, I've been working on other stuff.
Got the rear struts replaced today. All 4 struts were totally shot and now all are fresh! I used OEM but it rides better!
Also found the source of a gas smell I've noticed that is worst when the tank is full.
This breather outlet was leaking at the base...

Jacked that corner up so the leak would stop and used some JB Weld:

The bracket I'd hoped would work didn't. It pushed the pump into my coolant hoses so back to the drawing board.
Had a new PS hose made locally with the restrictor from an A4 I yanked from the pull and pay a while ago. The pump is quieter but still not right.
So I pulled the trigger on an Mr2 power steering pump (the later one with the reservoir) should be here in a week or so from UK
Anyone done this before? I found a good write up for install here:

I was thinking about going Electric Hydraulic Steering Pump and somebody posted a volvo unit.
Since thats a can bus unit, lots of features are missing, plus the pump is close to 120 bar...

I am using an mr2 pump. Probably been in the car for 15 years now. I run it simple on. And off with the ignition, with a cut switch so I can stop it from running at any time. I had the seller include the original fittings, then had a hose shop braze on a standard high pressure hose fitting.

Had a little time today to do something I've wanted to take care of for quite some time.
My car has been repainted in parts. Everything other than the doors, hatch, sunroof and hood (which is a b4 hood I put on) are clearcoated red. As a result, I have some really faded single stage red and some poorly resprayed red with peeling clearcoat.
I'd describe the paint as a 50 footer
I did some polishing on the single stage to try and bring it back. I had done a couple spots last year as a test and finally got around to the rest today.

Got the pump from the UK today finally.
I found some great info on this install. There are people with all kinds of cars using these things.
Firstly, here's the pump (cleaned up). Complete with pigtails for the harnesses:

I have had a couple hoses made for my existing pump and I now have hard fittings on the rack and the pump with a hose in between - all connecting with 6 AN fittings.
So I found a fitting that uses 6AN for my existing hose and 16mm x 1.5 for the pump:

I also bought a 90* fitting so I could route the hose down:


So now I will get it wired up and try to install. I found these diagrams for the wiring:


I bought this relay kit and hope to get everything working this weekend:

Lastly, it occurs to me that with the PS pump eliminated, I will have eliminated my Viscous Fan, Power Steering Pump and AC Compressor.
The Fan pulley and AC Compressor are currently on the engine as rollers but I now will just have the alternator on the serpentine belt. I'd love to get rid of the extra stuff and make some more room for air movement.

I can pretty easily get rid of all the stuff in the Red X's but the Blue one is tougher. I'll need to figure out how to tension the serpentine belt by likely moving the tensioner.
I will need to cut off the little bracket that the timing tools fit into so I guess I'll just source another belt cover if I ever decide to change the timing belt again.

I ran mine with the factory tensioner and kept the fan pulley as an idler. Will post up a pic.

You are using the viscous pulley though- I'd love to omit that too. My fan sits right on it. If it were gone I'd get a pretty big increase in airflow.

The more I look at this, I think I can do it without relocating the pulley like Marc did in his pic above.

If I use the yellow line routing, I just need to turn the tensioner into a pusher rather than a puller which can be done with a turnbuckle!
I have a lot of work to do this weekend to get ready for Carlisle.

swap of the carpet, door cards and headliner out of my new coupe

That will not work well, the tensioner needs to be on the slack side of the belt right before the crank pulley. You have it on the drive side where it will just compress and everything will slip. Marc using a solid turnbuckle would not have this problem

The belt in the B6 S4 is kinda similar, and the tension pulley doesn't have a spring of any sort. That application you just make it taught with your hand strength and then tighten the adjustment bolt.

I made some more headway today.
Got the Power Steering Pump wired and relayed. Tested it and it fires up. I have it triggered by the ignition switch so it will be always on.
From what I understand about this later version, it senses the resistance on its own and dials back the pressure when it's not called for anyway.
I decided to drill a 1.8" hole in the thermostat and got it all back in there. Loaded it all up with coolant and bled the system and ran it a bit.
The Alternator and new serpentine belt seem to be working just fine.
Unfortunately, The Euro Bumper isn't going to work on this car. It was fitted up yesterday with the radiator out and with it back in I would need to do a lot more cutting than I want to.
So back goes the old ugly bumper.
I did finally get around to figuring a way to install the strips below the headlights. With the large radiator in this car I had to cut off the ends of the headlights that hold them in.
I cut the ends of the strips off and put a screw through the little tab on the bottom into the headlight itself.



Small victory I guess, but a victory no less.

I cut the ends of the strips off and put a screw through the little tab on the bottom into the headlight itself.



Small victory I guess, but a victory no less.
Once the fittings for the PS hose and a bracket I ordered show up I hope to be done screwing around with the engine bay for a while.

Seems like you'll have to go R/S2 or Euro V6 for your bumper needs if the Euro Coupe is no good?

That's what I'm thinking too. Since this car is really an ugly duckling, I'll likely just leave the NA spec bumpers on it.
I made more progress today on the PS pump install.
The bracket I ordered showed up today from a guy in Montreal that made a few:

I painted it Tornado Red (with my trusty paintscratch.com spray can) and put it in place:



It's a little close to the exhaust manifold for my taste so I took some spare sheet metal and cut out a little heat shield. It's a little hard to see as it got dark:

I'm all done other than a couple fittings to finish the install. They arrive tomorrow and I hope to god this works.
