Bump. There is a company that makes a bracket to run these on golf mkiv/A3/TT chassis up front

Little confused... You're saying run these on the front? Are these 17z calipers or something smaller. Never read anything about anyone using the rears before.

the pistons are sized incorrectly to use these as front calipers.

If you check the part number which I can supply, these calipers are recommended by a European company to be used with their adapters that fit on the front of mkiv chassis

Part numbers coincide with brembos used on front big brake kits on mkiv and other platforms

Can you post up the caliper piston sizes? For comparison, I know that on the 996 GT3 the rear calipers have cast in to them the part numbers that correspond to a front caliper for a Boxster, BoxsterS. However in that instance the caliper pistons are a different size for the rear of the GT3 than the Boxster application.

I didn't push the piston out but the best measurement I can take from it and the track it leaves on the bad is 28mm per piston

There may be some gains to be made from a pedal feel but these are still incorrectly sized. I don't care that some European company sells brackets so you bolt them on, that doesn't make it right.

I don't want to derail a FS thread, I just don't want someone to buy these thinking they are going to be significantly better than say G60's.

Assuming (4) 28mm pistons gives a effective piston area of 2460sq-mm'ss

G60's have a 40&45mm sized pistons which gives an effective piston area of 2845sq-mm's.

Brake force is directly related to surface area which the brake fluid pressure is being applied.

I used G60's as an example.

Im just here for peoples safety, suggesting they do a bit of math before they just assume OHHH BREMBO BRAKES ARE MOAR BETTER.
