I'm looking at building a manifold for my AAN swap. I suppose I could use the 3B manifold and 7a valve covers I have, but I'd rather avoid a cross pipe setup if possible. I could also buy a Wagner or efi express forward facing manifold, but that's not in the budget. What I do have is a couple of manifolds for parts and a tig welder.
Just wanted to get any BTDT advice and maybe photos of people's setups.
So far I'm thinking I can just mod the AAN manifold, cut and flip the 3b manifold, or just use the AAN runners and do a 4" tube plenum. Wasn't someone making dual plenum manifolds recently? Probably more work than I want to do but I like the idea.

Re: Custom intake manifolds
Well I'm actually leaning towards modding the AAN manifold for now and building a dual plenum.
This page has some info about dual plenum designed and some Audi sport manifolds
http://www.bufkinengineering.com/intake%20manifolds.htm
I'm thinking 4" main plenum with a 3" tapered plenum, if I can make it fit. The Aan 1 and 5 runners aren't in the same plane as the other three so I'm thinking a 7a manifold would be the ticket to avoid buying s flange and making the runners. I could also then adapt a 3" throttle body and open the whole intake up to 3".
Only thing I'm worried about is welding the tapered plenum to the main plenum since it's a pretty narrow angle and I'm pretty sure my tig torch and skills won't allow me to weld the inside of it.

Re: Custom intake manifolds
ive got two 7a manifolds that I dont need if you need one to cut up.
