I have been doing some research on ways of making an engine more efficient and read how some people are grounding their heads to a ground point directly. The thought behind that is the spark plugs ground to the head, why not have an extra ground there for efficiency? Makes sense so I was wondering if it was even possible on the AAN using what's already there and/or if it was if anyone could point out a good way to do it?
If it's not feasible then is there another place on the AAN someone would recommend?
Thanks guys for the help
Head grounding on the AAN
Re: Head grounding on the AAN
Run a strap off any bolt on the head, valve cover, intake mani.
Re: Head grounding on the AAN
Thanks for the help Scubagil, I was just curious if anyone had any advise that maybe they did... ran from this bolt here to ground to there. But that's cool, I'm thinking of running a ground from the valve cover (the ground where the 2.0T coils are grounded) and then maybe the other side of the engine as well just for overkill on the grounding. I figure you can't have too much grounding.
Re: Head grounding on the AAN
Its a good idea, I've heard the factory grounds are pretty minimal.
Re: Head grounding on the AAN
Had a thought, one ground from the valve cover where the coils are grounded to and the other from the alternator bracket.
I also was looking at the alternator today and saw the cable going to the battery was pretty thin. Would anyone recommend running a 0 gauge? I have about 50 feet right now and I'm thinking of running the 0 gauge from the alternator to the battery. I'm actually pretty surprised that the power cable is as thin as it is.

Re: Head grounding on the AAN
I had a no start caused by a bad engine block ground (the one near the starter) about a year ago. Since I'm lazy, I just grounded one of the studs for the heat shield above the exhaust mani to the strut brace. Fixed the no start. Then I had the car dyno tuned at EFIx.
I had the engine out a month ago and replaced the bad block ground and lost the extra ground. The car started, but I had an ignition break up at high rpm/boost. When I added the extra ground back the miss went away, no oth r changes.
This is more likely due to other failing grounds than a design flaw, but again I'm lazy and it worked.

Re: Head grounding on the AAN
The mule is revving to 8500 on stock grounds. Although sometimes the tach bounces around a little weird around 7500-8500.
