I was offered a 7a head that has some damage. Somehow, a bolt managed to get dropped into one of the cylinders while the plugs were out, and they tryed to start it. As you will see in the pics, it appears to have been standing up, so it got a nice pug mark in the valve area, and some other marks from the threads around the edge. I am also posting a pic of the piston it hit. As you can actually read what kind of bolt it was...
Can it be saved?

Id run it still as long as the valve seats arent messed up and nothing is cracked. my VR6 has a head on it that something went through the engine and dimpled up the top of the 2 of the pistons and the head a little. i just sanded down the high spots and tossed it back together, car has ran like a champ for 4 years now.

Nice. The plan is to machine it for water manifold and hold onto it as a replacement if my 3B head ever takes a crap. I will be getting the complete head so the 7a cams will be a nice upgrade.
