Where I have Been / Cam Pulleys
Re: Where I have Been / Cam Pulleys
Or this damage could have been from the cam breaking and valves hitting pistons. I know a lot of the time in the TDI world if you toss a timing belt you need to look at the lifters for stress cracks (which are lightweight lifters BTW, exact same dia and weight as the lightweight ones sold for AAN). Most of the time people just replace everything in the head because they don't want to drop a valve or lifter later and do it all again.

I said the same thing but it was an exhaust valve. Exhaust valves can't hit the pistons.

Re: Where I have Been / Cam Pulleys
Is it possible the cams being billet vs. stock regrinds like what they should be for the 1002305 to be the issue? On 034's site all the billet cat cams are say recommended for solid lifters.

I've seen lifter bores that were damaged bored oversized and sleeved... possible? Would save you a ton of money if so.

Re: Where I have Been / Cam Pulleys
Unfortunately the center wall between the lifter bores is too thin to allow for sleeving. I sure studied it hard though.

weld / machine repair? worth at least getting an estimate.

That's what I was thinking.
