Uhh, bummer about the crank. Hope you can shave it down some and grind it to 92.8 or something close to throw in Darin's 'short' block :D

Looking great Hank.

I can't wait to see the finished product.

I really like how well you cleaned the engine bay up.

You and your dad are crazy..........I hope you guys meet the deadline.

Good luck.

cheers,

pkw wrote:wow, looks like a million bucks Hank. what is up with that idler for the timing belt - using it to tune in the timing belt that you are using?
I am seeing why you have not gotten back to me on that intake manifold. You are a busy guy. I hope all is well with you and yours.

Yes, the deck is 16mm taller than a regular 220mm deck so you need a 32mm longer belt. There isn't one so I made a new pickup for the idler.

Note to Hank:

lol. I can't agree enough. My every weekend routine consists of either a iced latte with an extra shot of expresso, or an amp overdrive energy drink with a side of mt. dew. Otherwise I fall asleep on my desk at work. E.G. right now I could be sleepy but instead I'm reading MG. On a side note did you get my PM? I got the pistons and they are beautiful. I can see you're a busy man currently so whenever you get a chance to ship those rods out is cool by me.

Sweet. I am so stoked for when you take it to the dyno. There's been such a flurry of stuff going on here, can you give us a summary of what was changed? Did you build the head or just new OEM?

I painstakingly kept the head as close to stock as i could so I could replicate the 2.2L. The only headwork that is different is the exhaust valves as I couldn't bear putting OEMs back in there after what had happened to my last engine. Even then though, I left them at the stock size and without an undercut stem to replicate OEM as best that I could. I want to see the difference in only increasing the displacement of the engine, thus everything is as close to the same as possible.
