Wow, that's rough, but it's not true progress without a setback or two.
Keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to the 2.6L!

I'm surprised you didn't hear that valve head banging around in there...

I thought you lived at the Lab and were always there...

my2000apb wrote:PICS!!!!

I signed a waiver, went through a security scanner and had to leave all cameras outside the Lab. Sorry. The prototype is impressive. Lofty hp and tq goals with a low rpm threshold. Discussing "the kit" that will be available got the wheels turning inside my head. Resistance is futile.

Imagine...2.6 liter 5 cylinder with a billet wheel 30r...25 psi at 3300 rpms....or sooner....400whp, 400+tq....

Hank is the devil.

darin, jsut go for a drive and be happy!!! haah

hahaha @ security, im sure there will be a grand unveiling

2.6L 5 cyl with a billet wheel , and it comes 3" vband .82 ar (which is great for more testing)

from ForcedPerformance website
"This turbocharger is recommended for applications running 40psi boost pressure that target the 800-900whp range. The FP HTA™ GT3794R has exceeded 900whp easily during testing as well has running 8's in the quarter mile with trap speeds in excess of 160mph."

LOL. You guys are too much. Tim, unfortunately, the 37r does not come with a tial Vband inlet option. That is okay, as I am not willing to go any bigger of a turbo for road racing. That is really what I want the car to double up as. My goal for the project is 700whp/700Wtq, and I think the 3586r will get me there with e85. I need/want at least 4000 rpm of meaty power without going dry sump. I am hoping that the extra 350cc of displacement will get me 500whp from 4000-8500 with 700 available at 6500-8500. The 3586r is supposively within 150rpm of hta3582r spool, so if I can gain 400rpm with the extra displacement, I can lose 150 and end up at around 3900rpm with spool up.

8)

I am thinking of building a new manifold though that uses the larger 42r style tial inlet so that I can have the option of having a dyno queen for product developement. Realistically, 700whp is enough, even for me. Famous last words.

ah i see, its jsut vband out, weak, it will be out at some point im sure

but the powerband argument wins all day
keep it lower and w/o drysump makes it much more attainable

i cant wait to see more

That is what the inside of the valve looks like.

Looks like the tial hotside took a beating as well. Hopefully I can save it... after two full days in acid, the aluminum us almost all eaten away. Hopefully I can chip out the welded crap in there and weld some areas to get my .82 back. As it stands, the housing is more like a .95!
