ENGINE SHOULD BE HERE TODAY!!!!! (maybe tomorrow)

I have exactly four days off between now and Carlisle...I'm going to try and get it done! Hopefully it will all come together.

Thanks man!

I also forgot to mention I worked all day Friday on getting the brakes installed. What a pain. Everything is complete, bled and ready to drive. At least I got that out of the way. Ended up replacing both front lines from the ABS pump out to each wheel. All the fittings at the brake hoses just turned to shit. What a pain.

Fuck you fitting!

Image

We (my Father and I) decided the best way to go about using the smaller rotors (331mm) with the D2 S8 calipers was to just machine the "stand" off the caliper rather than making new brackets that would end up being iffy.

Image

Image

Image

Image

All done. This allowed me to run a 331 instead of the 345 which the S8 caliper was designed for use on. I just wanted to be able to run 17" wheels if needed and I had the rotors from my B5.

Image

OHHHH, and a new OEM brake master reservoir ;)

I believe they were .018 top ring and .020 bottom (off the top of my head). I had nothing to do with these choices. All engine specs were determined by Jeff.

Nothing lower than 10w-30 (no 0w or 5w). I'll probably run Valvoline VR1 full synthetic. He said he uses Joe Gibbs break in oil for the break jn period.

Matts will not be complete for Carlisle and hopefully mine is. He's had quite a few things hold his build up though it should be running soon. Jeff still has his engine but it's getting real close.

It's not going to be full power at all but a ride is certainly in order :) I'm going to just try and make it there, lol.

Yeah, that's the plan. I was bummed when I saw the mount was in pieces but quickly saw that only 3 little tacks held them together.

So the new engine arrived at my fathers shop Tuesday afternoon while I was unfortunately at work. Watching the seconds go by...lol. Out at 6:45 and immediately over to pick it up.

In the garage and turbo propped on there for fun:

Tilton/034 clutch release bearing...pretty cool.

The 200 will unfortunately not bet attending Carlisle despite all the hard efforts thus far. The manifold and downpipe won't arrive until Wednesday. Then the charge pipes will need some minor modification, then break in the engine/tune. It just not going to happen.

I'll be moving my efforts over to the Avant to prep it for Carlisle, though it doesn't need much.
