so is it that easy to road legal a car in america? I know what we can get away with over here but not sure about the states, i've seen some pics before of cars that just should not be on the road so guess in certain states it must be quite relaxed?
Did this car come with the digi dash? if so thats a handy bonus. Uk cars don't unless its a urq.
Some states have safety and emissions, some only emissions, and some (CO) only have regional emissions. So, in some places you can get a tag for just about anything with a VIN. Now, there is the caveat that we are not supposed to be tampering with federally mandated safety and emissions equipment but enforcement of this is difficult. There are also different rules for homebuilt cars; I'm not sure how difficult it would be to register a tube chassis with OEM body as a homebuilt / kit car.
for me it should be a matter of applying for title and registration only. all paperwork. the vehicle would never be seen by any governing body. there are no emissions-controls in the area i live in now nor the area i am moving to (out in the country).

Going anywhere nice?
I'll be ny buffalo area for a while then moving down towards florida later on.
Pete, the car didn't come with the digidash. It was swapped over from a special edition coupe GT. Only the special edition coupe GT's got the digidash in the USA.
BTW, California has varying emissions requirements that go by county and are determined by the amount of residents in each county. example... El Dorado county requires a 2 speed idle smog check bi-annually, Placer county requires 2 speed dyno smog test (to test for NOx emissions) bi-anually, Sierra county only requires a 2 speed idle smog test the first time the vehicle is registered in the county, and never again as long as the vehicle stays registered there. And I know of a trick for getting around that initial smog test in sierra county.
