Hanks URQ 2.6L Autopsy
Re: Hanks 81 URQ Dyno 612whp 527wtq
I must have missed the thread on the B B Q for this year. but it sounds like its still undecided. you know, since I drove through Moab a couple of times already this year and was pissed I diddnt get to stay, could that be a possible destination? there is so much to do and would be pretty killer for a weekend. one way or another im going down there for a weekend getaway.

Dave, with the 'success' of our event last I was contacted by the Co guys as a heads-up that they were planning this event in Vail in 2011. It was really out of courtesy so we did not plan conflicting events a month apart and spilt participation. They kept me in the loop during the planning stages but then the main guy has all but disappeared which is not like them - UrQ25 was meticulously organized, and people were updated along the way.
I have been left scratching my head and trying to contact them but to no avail. They released a preliminary agenda and registration packet in Feb but that was literally the last I heard of it. It was in the back of my mind that if that event didnt happen we'd have something waiting in the wings for that same weekend since many would have already had plans for a car-getaway.
There was some early chat about hosting it in SLC this (next) time however Audi Henderson has asked me more than a couple times about doing something again in 2011. We now have access to a decent 4wd Mustang Dyno here in town too - and he'd love to have us on it as a group. There are also a couple more opportunities for drives within close range of the city as well.
I'll gladly help out as best as I can on something up north or remote, but as far as taking the lead I'd be better matched to something local.
I'd like to actually get some solid confirmation with the Co guys before moving ahead, but we all need to get together again somewhere this year, I know a couple more cars that need solid deadlines put on them ;O}

A local by the name of John(with the yellow RS4) has been talking about turning a lapping day in August into an Audi Event at Miller MotorsportsPark. Perhaps we could turn the event into a track day on Friday, lodge up in Park City, and then do some drives up into the Uintas or up north. Utah by far had the biggest showing @battleborn. I think for now on, the state represented the most gets homefield for the next year

you know i'm in!

Aug is bad for me but it sounds fun.

Hey Sean, check your e-mail. I sent out a message to the CO urq25 crew to see if we can get an update or consensus as to what is happening. I haven't heard much in the past 2 months so I am not sure what's happening.

Thanks Dave, much appreciated. I think we are all looking forward to something, we just aren't sure what it is yet.

Ross from the S2forums was in the states and looked up the mafia for a small get together. He took a couple of videos that he posted on the s2 forums..

Boost is around 32psi in these vids, so probably an honest 540whp/490wtq. The second one has wheels spin in 3rd!! Ross was pretty jazzed about the ride, and his wife was a real sport for hanging out with a bunch of car geeks in Orem Utah. Ross has a rs2, but it was his first time in the quattro. His wife kept saying how cool it was to see a Ashes to Ashes Quattro!!!

Lol, all I saw was work zones. What are the laws in utah like concerning violations in work zones? They are always pretty harsh around here.
Re: Hanks 81 URQ Dyno 612whp 527wtq
Beeping indicates over 32psi, other beep is the v1 getting hp pickup....
In Mexico, construction is EVERYWHERE.
This was about 3 weeks ago before the law had come down on me hard for smoking a gsx-r1000
"racing officers( plural) that is impossible.. do I look dumb enough to try and race a bullet bike, much less a liter bike? "

No prob Peter. I haven't lifted the hood or changed anything in the last couple of month. I think we were hitting 29-30 psi on both trips. My first dyno was at 295 and it was 520whp
Re: Hanks 81 URQ Dyno 612whp 527wtq
Nice vids Hank, the car looks really fun to drive! Getting sideways with AWD never gets old. Wheelspin in 3rd is also beyond awesome.

Like Aaron says....Hank pushing his luck yet again. I'm sooooooo glad I don't still pay his insurance anymore. LOL What is a guy to do though? Someone shows up from Great Britain to go for a ride and you say no? I wouldn't either.
I like the comment after the first onramp pull.....wow this pulls pretty hard.....what kind of brake setup do you have on it. Sounds like he was trying to figure out, once he realized the car could pull hard, whether or not it could stop.

Good stuf Hank, just do not forget driving is a privilege, I probably will not drive crow on a street this summer ;( because if I get another ticket license is gone for 6 monts
Re: Hanks 81 URQ Dyno 612whp 527wtq
Looks fun!
Alright, Hank. Time to talk stroker. Whataya got up your sleeve in terms of parts your making to make one work? My build up plan has been tall block stroker, so your research is not to fall on deaf ears on my account! OUT WITH IT! ;-P

Re: Hanks 81 URQ Dyno 612whp 527wtq
Hehehe. It is all pretty much outlined in Jonathan's thread. throw me an email at hankiroz at yahoo. I am building custom parts and don't want to use this site as a springboard to launch what I believe is the perfect 1000hp street monster of a motor. I'll probably document the motor as I put it together in the next month or so.
