Checked out your build, very nice engine bay, your engine looks the business for sure. I unfortunately don't have my engine bay looking that clean, when I bought the car the previous owner has put Por 15 all over and I didn't want to have to pull everything including the motor to repaint the engine bay. It will happen when the engine needs to be redone I suspect. Any way very nice looking tidy engine bay!!!

Finally I got all the parts I need. After getting the wrong size air filter called amazon up and they next day aired the correct one so I spent the evening taking everything apart and putting gaskets in place and tourqing every thing down. I also hooked all the turbo lines up. The only thing left to do is install injectors and ecu. This should complete all the mechanical aspects of the build. I want to make sure everything is running correctly before I install the methanol system. I won't drive the car hard at all because it had been tuned for meth so just very slow driving to make sure I have no leaks or unforeseen issues.

So tidy.

Your build has long been an inspiration, and these latest updates don't disappoint.

Really digging on the MAF.

Thanks a ton man! I have really poured all of my focus on this car and haven't spared any money on this build. I have wanted to do this for 20 years and I finally have the resources, the knowledge, and patients to undertake such a project. I still have a lot of little things left to button up but all the major work is finally complete. Thanks for all the support mate. If I can help you in any way don't hesitate to ask!

Ok got a little time today so here are the pics of progress. I started to put the injectors in the fuel rail but I need spacers which my bud Brent is going to hook me up with so I decided I would work on the heat shielding for my carbon fiber hood. I also finished up on the carbon fiber bits on the interior. The heat shield took most of my time today about 5 hours but it will do a good job at directing the heat out of my louvered hood.

Some progress today. I was able to get the fuel rail installed after sourcing adapters needed to fit the stock fuel rail in its original location. I had some time to work on the interior as well, still a ways to go in that arena but it is getting closer. Once I have confirmed everything is working as it should it will be time to drive the car to Las Vegas to Hanks shop and get it on the dyno for a custom map.!!

I got it running and took it for its first test drive last night!!! I have some throttle issues the car dies if I stab the throttle but works fine if I am progressive with throttle modulation. The methanol isn't installed yet so it was real easy driving to see how everything is sealed up.

Ok I am still working on the hard start and turns out I still have some wiring issues so I have been checking everything I.e. Timing, replaced a suspect fuel pressure regulator still not the issue. So I do believe it has some wiring issues. I have spent the last few nights pouring over wiring diagrams trying to figure this out. My friend stopped by and we tried to pull codes but we were unable. Ohmed out the connectors and sure enough wiring not connected correctly. Found the wire that wasn't connected today but I was burnt out so I focused on the methanol install. I got the tank all welded up and baffles installed. I also was able to get the support structure welded up and mocked in place then it got too cold and I ran out of steam. Huh not able to post any pics. Will try again later

Any chance your hard start is the FW sensor in the bell housing (G4)? That's the next thing I'm going to look at since swapping the FPR added a fuel cut/hesitation and didn't solve my hot start issue...

Happy birthday by the way!! I am in the process of getting the wires hooked up so I can pull codes. That is one sensor I have yet to change. Unfortunately my limited knowledge of electrical is the issue here. I suspect if some came in that knew what they were doing this would have been solved long ago. Oh well moving forward as fast and accurately as I can. I will look into the G4 thanks a ton and again happy birthday!! Cheers

Ok, in order to pull codes from the Vag com the K and L wires would be connected to the port. After chasing wires for two days I found out that on my K connector the Blk/w wire was not only not connected but the wire from the relay to the K connector is missing after the T5 connector. I omhed out all the wires so the next step is to either find the blk/w wire and connect it to the T5 or just place in line a new wire. Then we should, in theory, be able to pull codes which, hopefully , will aid in the hard start department I really don't feel like tearing into the harness again on my back in the cold weather.

I have been working more on the bracing for the methanol tank and have that almost finished. I still need to mount the pump and all the other bits but no more fabrication after the bracket is done..

Wow great build. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your hood louvers?

You can get the hood louvers any place. I wanted stainless steel so no rust issues so look into louvers for boats or marine application

I'll just leave this here...

Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is a full throttle 2nd thru 3rd gear video from araipilot.

As ever,

Dustin.

PS... maybe a launch video too if you're feeling extra festive.
