Glad you are having fun with the car. We are going to be in Stayner this Sunday, not sure the weather will be any good for a drive further north.

Cheers

I hear ya, it was a birthday gift though so I can't complain :) hope it's nice this weekend, I'd love to get some video.

So my to do list is now as follows:
- launch control button
- exhaust cutout
- wire lighting for oil and boost pressure gauges
- alignment
- mount ecu more permanently. Zipties are ok but I'd like to mount it to something...
- detail it (Andrew)

I'll get to this list, uh, slowly :)

Job 1 on to-do list: make sure raintray drains are clear to avoid coil poppage!

Fuel to 20psi. Starts, idles, drives great. The only thing I haven't figured out is when I lift the throttle hangs a tiny bit. Might just be the physical dashpot on the TB, haven't checked it yet.

Actually, there's also sort of a dead spot right at 3krpm until the engine is warm. Been that way since installing VEMS, on both rebuilds by me/us. Might be timing but I haven't investigated it.

Careful. Ignition kills pistons more than fueling does. 20psi is plenty enough boost to destroy a piston or two, regardless of how spot on fueling is

Base timing is spot on and the timing map is stock base map except for idle which is 15 deg instead of 10.

Went for a family drive today. Two adults and two kids in car seats in a slammed 4k is fun. I wouldn't describe it as the perfect family car lol. But it was a nice drive and everyone did great. Dad took his red s4. Maddex peer pressured me to pass everything. Good times.

I'm blowing smoke out the exhaust after hard pulls. Not while on boost but vacuum. And quite bad if I go up past 6500rpm. I dunno. I did valve seals with the first rebuild but not the 2nd. But I would be more inclined to think crank case pressure or something. I just have the one line going to catch can, and catch can dumps under the car. Maybe over the winter I'll pull the head depending on how a leak down comes out.

Im having the exact same problem. I figured it was the turbo but it wasnt. Im honestly thinking its the valve guides that are worn out (considering all the bent valves Ive gone through in the past year).

Do a leak down and tell me what you find. Im really curious as I have the exact same issue after heavy boost

24 psi exterior vid coming. :)

Removed 2 deg of timing off the entire map to be safe. Then revisited the ve table, added fuel, and then added 25kpa, 10kpa at a time. N75 dc is up to 41 now, but perhaps more surprising is that the 60lb injectors are hitting 84 percent dc at the top of the rev range. I could probably only add another psi or two of boost before they're maxed out in the safe range. The car REALLY goes like stink now!

It's at 24psi now, about all I want to run on the small hotside and simple log manifold. I made a post a few back with the details.

I don't understand this damn car. When tuning for 24 psi I added a bunch of fuel, even at the current boost levels. It wasn't scary lean but it was slightly lean. No biggie. So I tuned up to 24psi and put in some more fuel as we went, and the fuel curve was spot on. Today I took the kids to church in it and noticed some misfires or ignition breakup above 5k (boost for God!) and so I took a log with dad and again the car was running lean, but more this time. So again I added fuel, and now it's good again. Seemed to help the ignition issue slightly but it's still there. I also haven't driven it since tuning on Friday so it's not like anything changed. Anyway, it's back to where is supposed to be. I wonder if the fuel filter needs changing or perhaps it's just the more dense air. But really that's why you leave EGO correction on... To compensate for those small environmental changes. Bah.
