Rear Tie Rods and Ball Joints for CQ - Help me find some!
Rear Tie Rods and Ball Joints for CQ - Help me find some!
While doing the control arm bushings the rear tie rods are pretty much done on Johnnyman's CQ :(. The bad part of this is trying to source new ones. They are pretty much non existant at the moment and appears our only option is to source the 034Motorsport (excuse my french)
ones. Before I go clicking checkout, anyone else have a better option? I know going the route of updated tie rods like these will last a very long time, but wanted to see if there were less expensive options before pulling the trigger.

Just a heads up, those will be squeaky and you will need to change the bearings in them at some point. So while the arms themselves may last forever, the heim joints certainly won't
Sorry the last three places I sourced for you didn't work out... there's always your local import parts store or NAPA: http://m.napaonline.com/Tablet/parts/Pa ... 0257076264 - they are initially more expensive than the 034 option, but as OEM-style replacements they will require far less maintenance than the 034s and will likely last 15-20 years.

No worries
Thanks for the tip with the tie rods! Who knew these things would be so hard to source?

I'm sure we can figure out a solution for good rod ends. I am thinking about making a set (I need a front TRE) just need to sort out lengths and what ends

I thought there were some sealed heim/rod ends from Aurora Bearing? I've seen some with boots on them as well.

Just finished putting some OEM spec ones on. Lemfroder or something. Replacing those and the CA bushings made a world of difference!
