Just filled up with E85 tonight. Excited to start messing around. Took a bit to tune it properly with my horribly slow laptop, but a lot of logs, Some auto tuning, and schematic tuning and I'm doing pretty good. Got cruising pretty good. Fattened up boost areas while offline, gonna check to see how rich I am tomorrow. Hopefully right on target.
Hoping the RS2 Injectors will be enough for my power levels.

How big are RS2 injectors? What FPR? You'll run out of fuel quick just so you know.

On my car where the injectors were at 50-55%DC on E85 it's at 90%.

Phil, what lambda values are you shooting for at WOT on boost?

From what I've read, I should be somewhere between .76 to .8
I could be totally wrong. I still have yet to get into boost. hah. Gotta go and tweak it a bit more.

I mainly got it for the fact of messing around. I want to mess around with it for a bit so I know what I'm doing when I go billet and what not.
Only bummer is this station is the only station within 100 miles, and it's about 45 minutes from where I live now. So yeah. Not Ideal.

Shoot for .8 lambda at the riches at WOT with torque peak, with .82-.83 up top even. I find that anything under .8 at higher boost levels won't light off.

That will help lean out the injectors and stretch them a tad further.

Interested in how those injectors do with the E85, I've got some similar sized ones on my 20v but also in the 45min-drive-to-E85 boat. Also, I'm a big fan of your build/car, I almost did the same. It might be the partially the color combo but those rear fenders make the car look really tough.

Its basically the exact same as tuning on regular gasoline as long as you are using lambda.

I hate updating from my phone but injectors hit 74% duty cycle at 22 psi on e85. Whoo!

Car runs like balls when cold on E85. But It's awesome stuff. Might mess around with the timing a bit more in the next couple days.
The fact that it's 45 minutes away makes it just such a bummer though. Too bad I moved

Just get a 55 gallon drum, take a truck once every month, and fill that thing up. Most guys just use the drum in a siphon action to get the gas into the tank. It isn't too hard.

If they ever take e85 away close to home, I'll find it wherever it is and do this.

And those duty cycles are encouraging me set up ignition control before I get to injectors; that's enough headroom to have some fun with for sure

I gotta get this cold start stuff figured out. So rich. Even when the coolant temp is at like 40c it barely runs. Gotta throw some more timing at it as well. Because.... Well why the Hell not? Need to make a knock phone.

A little while back I had another coilover incident. Ring came off again in a loud commotion. Drove through downtown Reno with my passenger rear tucking tire. Hah.
Had to run stock 200 20v suspension for a little while. Talk about some serious rake. Had to wait for new snap rings to come in from akron. I got the new snap rings in the grooves properly without the stock spring perch ring and it all fits perfectly. Took the s6 wheels off to put the fat fives on for summer, gotta get new tires for those things.

I need a billet turbo
I need new injectors for said turbo
I need new summer tires

Tires kind of take priority. Egah.

E85 has been put on hold. Don't have the time to drive 45 minutes every week for it. And my mileage with it was AWFUL. Autocross starts this month so I'm thinking I might run it for safety sake during that.
Gotta get the cold start on it running better, and the timing advanced to actually take advantage of it.
Cold start is pretty bad with 91 as well... But whatever.

I'm not a huge fan of them. Corey will probably be taking them off my hands. I'll find new snow wheels, these were not the best. They held snow and ice terribly. I decided against HP2 brakes so I can run 15" wheels for a while longer now.

So like I said. Had some rear coilover issues and had to throw the stock rear shocks and springs on

But we're back to a good height now.


I have a line on a local guy that does a lot of e30 stuff with a sweet turbo'd 325i that makes custom fender flares. We'll see how this pans out. Also just got some new tires for the fat fives. Trying to figure out what I can do about getting rid of the black paint and going back to the polished look. Not totally sure yet.
Also still looking for a v8 front and rear bumper.
And a silver 200 trunk and new silver hood.
Also finally figured out how to pull the messed up window trim. And to think I figured it out the day my parts car left

EDIT: Also, first Autocross event is this weekend. Excited but nervous. My 255 blizzaks rub the fenders pretty badly on hard turns. But the 225's on my fat fives dont. Unfortunately the new tires are 245's so I think they'll rub as well. The tires on the fat fives are too gone to pass any tech inspection. I'm contemplating just throwing on the 200 20v front fenders for the weekend so I don't rub too terribly. I'd raise the car up but I'm as high as my front coil sleeves will go right now.

So just took the car to my first SCCA solo auto cross event this weekend. Had a huge blast. Saturday was mainly a class day teaching everything. Got 2 videos of today's event from in the car. Used my cellphone and windshield cellphone mount so the camera was attempting to focus on too many things, but it worked. Forgot to hit record on the second event. Videos uploading right now.
Saturday I ran with the diffs unlocked and I didn't like the feel too much. I tried it today with center and rear locked and liked the predictable feel of it.
Either way I had a huge blast both days. I need some good tires.

was about a 1/4 of a quart low after the first run and had some lifter tick. Added some to about a 1/3 over full and I blew off a big cloud of smoke after the second run. Catch can had a little bit of oil in it so I know it's working at least. I should probably get the drain routed to the block soon....
