How big can you go with a 07K?

Post by paracaidista2.7t »

Displacement wise? I know there aren't any stroker cranks, but how big can you bore it, realistically, for a turbo motor? Also, has anyone tried this swap in a B5 or C5? I am intrigued by the VR6, but the 5cyl. just freaking sounds cool.

I don't think there's any room to bore, maybe 0.5-1mm from when I was looking at it at Iroz. Maybe offset grind the crank but not sure about block clearances.

These are still short deck 220mm blocks, so 2.5L is probably as big as it gets. As others have said, 83mm is as big as I would want to go.

So, about 2540cc. I doubt that the extra 60cc or so would be worth the compromise, IMHO.

Eurospec says this about their 5 Cylinder Billet Crankshafts, "Fits all inline 5 Cyl Audi and VW Petrol engines."

True in this case?

No, the old five cranks would not work.
