If you dropped the ABZ into the 530, that would be cool, too.

haha good idea. That would probably be a bit difficult, but cool. I think the better option would be an E39 M5 motor or an E92 M3 motor. In my dreams! :D I think I'll just use it as a daily ;)

Yesterday it rained so hard my garage flooded, but I did get a new 3/8ths ratchet from good old Craftsman fo free. Today I got an early start and got the driveshaft taken care of along with a ton of sensors and coolant lines. I'm pretty sure the only things holding me back now are one hydraulic line to the trans, the stupid 034 trans mount, and the procon cables.

Change of plans...

E34 is going to be the new dd. At the moment, I can't pay for for two insurances (just due to me having to pay for all of my school and housing this year without a job) so I'll be putting the 200 down for a little bit I think. I *THINK* I'm going to finish the bottom end build and reinstall without the new trans and clutch. I'll probably just put a cheapo clutch in the 016 for now and next year I can pull it all out again to do the big stuff.

I want it driveable, just not insured and driven at the moment. To be honest, I've just wanted an E34 to play with for a long time. It won't be getting all/any of the attention though. I am buying a 530 for a reason... so I can't modify it!

One thing this means is that I'm selling some stuff. ABZ, "built" 01e, lambo wheels, speedline wheels, etc. all for sale :) Make me an offer on anything if you are interested.

Dude, if I had the bucks, I'd jump on your Lambo wheels and the motor.

However, got 2 Audis now to take care of over here, building a house, which will be VERY expensive, plus some business stuff to care of.

High bias torsen center diff, torsen front diff, cryoed input shaft and 1st+ 2nd gears, wpc treated (micro shot-peened) input shaft and 1st + 2nd gears), shift collar upgrade, and just freshly rebuilt by Scott. Thats about it. Its a wide first 5 speed.

Dizzzam! If I had $$ I would be all over it. Would be nice to just for-go the 016 and go straight to 01E.

holy sh*t! haha

Jon, I paid $900 :D It needs some love though. Valve cover gaskets, giubo, and about $400 in suspension parts (at least) to get it as a nice dd. Still a good deal though.

That's a great deal! It looks super clean. It's funny, I've been driving my sisters car for the past three weeks (a 1974 beetle) while she's been out of the country and highly considering either an audi 90 or an e30 to dd till the s4 is done. I just don't think I can take money away from this project right now

Do you have a shot of the Holset/mani/head without charge air tube from above? I'd like to see how much space there is.

Ed, I'm going to get that picture for you either tonight or tomorrow.

I finally got another chance to work on the 200 today (after taking the driveshaft out of the E34 today as well). I have been too worried about figuring out whats wrong with the 530i to worry about the 200. Parts for that are on the way and will be here next week, so I'm hoping to have that reliable and on the road for work the week after. That will let me focus on the ole 5-ringed beast.

I took out the rad, disconnected the clutch fluid line, and cut out that damned trans mount today. Now the shift linkage is the ONLY thing keeping it from coming out as far as I know. Its just sitting on top of the motor and trans mounts ready to be lifted out. Gotta find a buddy to help me get the hood off so I can get the hoist positioned as well and then it should be out tomorrow if I have time.

I'm debating on what to do at the moment because I'm still living with my parents for one more year and my mom wants the car put back together ASAP lol. I am definitely going to fix the ps rack and all related hoses and obviously at least a new head gasket and such. I am hoping that I can do rods too but its kinda pointless without doing the clutch or clutch and tranny as well. Guess I can do the rods now and pull the tranny later to do a clutch if I have to, but I feel like I'm just going to do a full motor build at that point anyway since it will be next year when I have mo' money.

I know this all makes it seem pointless for me to have pulled it all apart, but the poor thing has been leaking too many fluids for its own good... it needed to at least get the head gasket and ps pump sorted out regardless.

Dude, If I where closer I would totally stop and lend a hand! xD Sounds like your making some good progress though! I also have done the DD while the Audi is down thing and it's hard to maintain a DD while putting money towards the Audi. The prelude that I had was a money pit but luckily the pathfinder is bullet proof and takes a good thrashing.

Ben, I appreciate the thought! I would love to have a helping hand, but there are no motorgeeks around here! I do have a friend or two who want to help out from time to time.

Anyway, engine is finally out. I had to get it out this morning before some people come to look at the house in about at 2:00. Got the motor out at noon :) Now for a *SERIOUS* degreasing of everything and some steering rack work!
