lol I know, I was hesitant to post it but it was an honest mistake.

Anyway, I hit boost cut today. I forget what my boost cut is set to, but I saw at least 24psi on my gauge. Its cuz I was squeezing on the throttle up to about 5k and 17psi (50% throttle) and then I let 'er rip and it just spiked like crazy. Too fast for my PID settings to respond properly. I thought I blew something up, but of course it was just boost cut. It always scares me! It felt damn good. I had my :o face on.

Yeah, I couldn't figure it out either until Ed told me...you have to go to your signature options and uncheck the bbc code option.

Chris, it was just that way until I got a filter for it. That pic was right after we fabbed it all up. Glad you like it :)

Just for size comparo, HX52, HX40pro, and then HX35 in this pic :)

lol at least you have a holset on that Dodge peter ;)

Yes its another Goldfarb. They're going to pick the best one out for me on Monday and then ship it. I feel so bad saying this but...$150. Sorry to anyone who has ever bought a garrett! If I need to rebuild it (which I doubt) they can supply a rebuild kit for $85. I can also probably get the 5"vband for the turbo from them for less than $10. Yeah son! This turbo flows 88-90lb/min and should be everything a gt42r or S372 is according to those who have used them.

I just answered that question on the previous page...but I'll forgive ya ;) Its got a filter on it. That pic was taken just after we finished fabbing it though. Its had a filter ever since. Granted its a $15 ebay filter, but thats the only one that would fit.

Well thank you for the kind words! I'm flattered. I do think its pretty awesome myself though...with even awesomer goals. Glad I could steer you in the right direction for turbo purchasing and glad I can bring Goldfarb some more potential business because they are truly awesome. I like to support the companies like Southbend, Goldfarb, and EFIexpress, etc. that run a good clean business and have great cust. service and help a brotha out from time to time!

This is a pretty fun sorta update...

So this is what the HX52 looked like when I first unpackaged it.

Image

under the comp cover is pretty oily. Wheel measures something like 67mm inducer and 98mm exducer.

Image

this is a BIG 16cm housing. Much bigger in exterior size than the 16 that I had on my H1C. You can also see the oil drain.

Image

Here is the "almost T4" flange and oil feed.

Image

Big ole v-band and some oil on the turbine blades. I think I'm going to call it safe and just rebuild this one. However, there is NO shaft play at all and the housings aren't cracked. This is what you want to look for when buying a Holset.

Image

Now...here is the pic in my sig. The H1C looks pretty decent (read: big) in there right?

Image

now how does it look?

Image

When I opened the box up I was almost unimpressed with the size of this thing. After looking at this picture however, I guess it looks pretty huge lol.

oh and last but not least, THANK YOU GOLDFARB!!!!

When does it go on the car? Are you going to use your existing manifold with and adapter or something? At least it will space it away from the intake tube.
