YES!!!!! I'm very happy. No more misfires

The big misfire pops were solved by an ECU with the proper trigger config settings (I don't know how the other one got messed up) and the little misfires were just solved with new plug wires. Well...kinda new. I was looking for some parts to sell to a fellow MG'er and found my old plug wires. I saw the dizzy cap ends on them and realized that they looked like they might clip onto the LS2 coils. They did, and I proceeded to make a 100mph run banging out shifts at 7800 RPMs with no misfires whatsoever. W0000000t!!!!

I really wish I knew how much power it is making. I really have no idea. Feels pretty good in third gear though. It pulls like a freight train with nearly no timing in it and only on 17psi. Can't wait to get it on the dyno with some more timing AND a rerouted dump tube.

Sounds like a dyno tune session would be a good investment.

hmm, i am kinda surprised to see more timing at 3400 and 4100 than at 4800 rpm. is 4800 by any chance where your turbo hits its target boost? also seems like 6200 on up could sport a little more advance but you were probably waiting for the dyno for that.
using any form of knock sensing? 93 octane i take it?
liking the VEMS?

Well the thing is, this timing map wasn't written by me and its not for this turbo. I think its more suited to a 35r. Also, its QUITE conservative. I know I could add 5 degrees in almost everywhere and still be safe on 93. I'm really not sure where this turbo hits boost if we were to dyno it in 4th gear or whatever.

I would think full boost at right about 4k depending on how much boost. I honestly haven't gotten on the car hard in anything other than 2nd gear since nailing it in 3rd will easily get me in the triple digits. I did do it yesterday though haha. Like you said, I'm waiting for the dyno before I even touch this map. I wrote my own fuel map from scratch and am comfortable messing with that, but timing is a bit more serious and I'd like to have some knock detection and power readings on hand to determine how far to push it. I can see gaining 50hp on the dyno easily...with just timing.

What do you mean for my target of 200? I'm shooting for something around 350awhp or so. Maybe 400 if I was having a very daring kind of day. I'm not quite comfortable with that though. I am liking VEMS. I've had about 2 years now to get acquainted with it and its been great except for having to be a sort of trail blazer in some respects for my application in particular. Now that everything has been sorted out its super simple, solid (reliable), and is very powerful in terms of firmware upgrades and expandability. New stuff comes out nearly every week.

"200" i am assuming on the axis is 200kpa, yes? i am assuming that you are still running at 15psi?(so i was looking at that row when i was posting)
where did the timing numbers come from? and why so sure that you can run 5 more degrees everywhere?

Ah I see now. Actually I'm at more like 220 kpa or 17psi.

Maybe not 5 more degrees absolutely everywhere, but in most places at least. The map came from someone I trust a LOT with this standalone and engine. I'll send you a PM. I'm not 100% sure that I can do it safely, but have been told it should be just fine. If I were 100% sure I would have done it already, but I like to play it safe so I wont do that until I hit the dyno.

I got another random question for ya. What is up with the door panel on the right front door in the pics of your car on this page? it looks like some kind of insulation or something. or am I crazy?

ha yeah, my passenger door panel is out. I left it up at school by accident. Took it out in the first place because I need to do some glasswork on it to make the speakers not stick out of the doors and also need to reupholster! That is the stock sound insulation type stuff thats behind the door panels though.

17x10 all around, but different offsets. The backs have an inch bigger lip and are stamped with ET25 (wheel is ET40 overall) while the fronts have a smaller lip but bigger barrels to compensate. The centers on those are stamped ET18 (wheel is Et45 overall). Pretty strange combo, but whatever. One of the centers is cracked right through one of the spokes (along with a corresponding bend on the lip and on the barrel), but what do you expect for $93.25? MUAHAHAHA I can't wait to refinish them to perfection

Oh and they are 5x114.3 and the centers are magnesium. I saw a guy selling these for $2k in OK condition!

correction, they are 17x10 all around. I based the 9" off of an estimation when I set them next to my style 5's which are supposed to be 17x8. Then I measured the speedlines and found them to be 10". I know my eye isn't that bad so I measured the style 5's and they are something like 8.7" wide ??? I was wondering why they stretched a lot when I put 205's on them lol.

heh, yep shorts and flip flops otherwise it would have been too hot! Its been really cold until Christmas. Its always warmer here in south Florida than Gainesville where I go to school though.

I think the BBS look good on the car, but I'm a big fan of BBS. That being said, the Speedlines ROCK. Such a huge fan of most of the speedlines I've seen. What color are you thinking for the centers?

haha I know I came home and told my dad I felt like I just robbed someone. I really don't know about the centers. I'm thinking these might be better on the Audi and the BBS's better on the BMW. It would also be nice to get some money out of both sets. I dunno, its hard! I was thinking maybe strip the centers to metal and then clear over them. Open to suggestions though. Lips will be polished no matter what though. I just have to strip them of their clear and shine them up a bit then get them re-cleared or something. Only thing is I would love to know what the tool is for the bolts on these things...

If anyone has a source for an extra speedline center let me know.
