Ah, my mistake. Almost every type. now that i think about it i have seen lots of go karts with just one wheel drive (SWD of the one wheel variety).

lol 780frawhp hhahah

Now lets see what it might be by the time I graduate.

I'd hope for

500fwhp, 600awhp, 500rwhp

so 1600frawhp bahahaa

Good to hear that you are sorting out your VEMS troubles! I hope that works for you!!

How about some friendly competition between college apartments :-) who like to wrench!!

we'll have this fall a
500 whp 1000 ftlbs 7.3l powerstroke
350 whp 600 ftlbs 7.3l powerstroke
and what ever the 20vt puts down!

You'd beat us by the time we graduate. Haha ok, I can't really say what the E30 will make. That was my rough estimate. Maybe Justin can chime in with his goals.

I am all for a little competition! The tq. #'s are impossible tho lol...especially since we have a honda on our team :D

no :hide: I do intend to do some troubleshooting still though.

The hesitation doesn't really seem to be there anymore, and after about 20 min of driving it didn't have the problem it had before. I actually have a little confidence in the car now which is good. I have good gut feelings about these things usually.

Pretty sure it was the hesitation i was getting on stock ecu was indeed an ignition issue.

I will still be ordering new fuel filter and I may try to make a boost tester today. My idea is to just get a pvc cap and seal an air hose fitting in the end of it...then use some kind of coupler to attach it to the end of the turbo. I could then just set my compressor at like 20psi and stick it on there. Then it would be a constant pressure source on there so I can listen for leaks.

The car runs ok for now on the standalone. It did have a few "hiccups" as I did some WOT pulls. Good thing I have logs to look at to see why now! :)

hmmmm you guys can look at these if you really want. No need for it, just if you are that bored lol.

I don't see too much out of the ordinary here as far as the hesitations go. There is a lot of info to go thru, so I'll have to try and find them somewhere. The longest WOT run is at 1974 seconds.

I'll post up if/when I can find where it hesitated some.

Sending it out to kevin too when i figure that out.

Drove the car a lot tonight, so I'm confident that its fixed.

Now just have to track down that boost leak. I know there is one. Its supposed to hit about 12psi and then stay there. It hits 10 and drops to like 8 pretty fast, so I think its running pretty rich up top. 100% throttle feels the exact same at like 70% pretty much.

got some vidzz lol

they are pretty crappy because they are from my phone...but its better than nothing!

They are of my friends Honda on its base tune. I was hoping to get the sound of the spool cuz its seriously ear piercing lol...but it didn't catch it. The camera makes my car sound really loud tho. Its like half that loud in real life haha. You can hear me doing little half throttle pulls in there. I was just letting it go to 5psi on about half throttle because thats where it still pulls pretty clean. After that it barely even goes faster lol (all third gear by the way)

I need some fittings so I can fill my car with r134. It was apparently converted before but there isnt a fitting on the compressor. Sooo ive tried a conversion fitting but i guess it was standard thread or something.

Anyone know what thread size they are for this car?

I just used a generic kit to do my cars. Fittings from those kits worked fine. I only needed to swap one fitting IIRC.

godddammmm M50 mani swap is a bitch. I have had to fab up so much shit lol.

I just have to extend the wires to the IAT sensor (or move the sensor again). This is a result of poor foresight.

I cant wait to experience the difference these manis supposedly make though! They are supposed to be pretty damn nice.

I did start making my boost leak tester. I just have to see if it will go on the end of the turbo now. Its 2" ID...so I think I can fit it or find a way to get it to fit lol.

Sweeeeeeeeet

I found my boost leak (and the reason my car was running like poo on stock engine management).

Its a MAJOR one haha. Two or three huge holes in my MM hose. I guess its time that I man up and replace it finally. I am NOT putting it back on the car. I will not drive it until I make something to fix it lol.

Its probably just going to be a piece of aluminum bend and some couplers. Simple enough.

Oh and I got my dad's E36 running right finally. I went to start the car yesterday after the mani install was "complete" and it wouldn't idle at all...would barely run no matter what in fact.

It ended up being a leak at the throttle body. There is some bs with the seal that needs to be addressed when doing this install, and I addressed it by using two seals and some gray gasket maker haha. I also had to fab some brackets to hold the fuel rail down and used like 6 barb fittings from the hardware store to make the necessary vacuum connections. Crazy stuff for something thats supposed to be bolt-on lol. Just proves that I have some wrenching talent though :)

Yessssssssssssssss

I fixed it :)

Car pulls almost as good as it ever has. The only reason its not as good as it was in the winter is because...well...its not winter lol.

Time to get this beast tuned! FINALLY.

I was pretty happy about getting it done so we did a little driving today.

Pics of that in another post...

What did you use to fix your MM hose? I saw your pics in your other thread. I am in the same position MM hose crapped out. I'm thinking using a 45* bend silicone hose would work. any input?

I got a 45 degree 2.5 " aluminum bend and then some adapter silicone couplers.

You probably wont be able to use a 45 degree silicone bend because of the two end size differences and the tight space.

I got one 2.25 to 2.5, and one 2.5 to 2.75 and they worked perfectly :)

Not sure what good prices are on these things as I wasn't able to shop around...but this place does have them in stock and their prices on everything else are pretty awesome.

silicone hoses are right there on the front page

http://racepartsolutions.com/

I'll try and see if I can measure how short I cut the aluminum. Its a really short section though. I'll get pics later!

Dam I probably would have bought that if I knew...

I called you guys sometime in the early spring and I was told the only way to get that was to order it as a whole kit with that piece, the lower ic hose, and the tb one. ($230)

Thanks for the info for others!

I'd suggest adding that to your 20vt section.

Oh, and I'm thinking of buying a nice Ebay ic core. They are like $60 lol...and my buddy Tom with the 1000whp integra swears by them. His build is nowhere near budget either. Apparently the 4" thick ones are identical to garrett cores. I guess its just a question of if I can fit a 4" core or not. That might take some interesting modification haha. I'd love to get the front off of this car soon to see what I'm working with.

This is what I'm talking about

Image

ebay is like harbor freight. Some things are OK to use, and some aren't. Thats just the way it is. He has both kinds of cores and claims they are the exact same, quality and all.

I think I'll be happy with my hundreds of dollars in savings with a product that does its job and does it well.

but now that I think of it, I kinda want side in, same side out.

So maybe my better option is this treadstone

~$400

I see nothing wrong with the ebay cores. I have cut them in half even to look at their fin construction . I am more impressed with the ebay cores( the good bar and plates ones) than many of the high dollar ICs I have altered through the years.

Cool, thats exactly what I wanted to hear! It might be worth the extra piping it will require to run a side/opposite side core then. That would be made easy with an intake manifold by you sir...(with tb up front)

hmmmmmmmmmm ideas :)

or I could keep it out back and just do some extra piping underneath the IC.
