Hey Justin, thanks for the offer - I'll have to let you know as I'm putting it back together.

On another note - finally found some outer lips for the speedlines so that I could have them all be 8.5" wide and wouldn't need to have the crazy ass stretch and poke going on out back.

I'm thinkin i want to do it if i can afford it. Opinions?

(i know it'll be overwhelming for no mo stretch 8) )

noooooooooooo :(

actually, as long as the fitment is still good...Have them sit flush with the fenders when the car is on the ground and I'd still be happy

yes, exactly. The back is not low and can't be because the wheels are ohhh about 1" outside of the fenders.... The new lips would put them flush just like the fronts

I vote yes. I don't like stretch about as much as I don't like staggered on quattros(not that you had a choice).

heh yes, I am a victim! Couldn't pass up the wheels for the price so I made do with the staggered set up. But I'm pretty excited to not deal with it anymore

Plus, one of the rear lips has been welded! Just another reason...

Ok ladies and gents

I have this parts list put together for the engine build. I already have a headgasket so no need for that, but here's everything else. Just want to ask if any of you think I'm missing something.

I'm not putting the big turbo on yet (yet more money required to run it) but I'm building everything else as though it is on there. I will be trying to get the forward facing intake from Hank and the FMIC on and sorted as well but haven't included piping/couplers for that.

Main:

* Bearings
* ARP main studs
* Rear main seal
* front main seal

Rods:

* Bearings
* SCAT rods (comes with ARP hardware)
* Wrist pin retaining clips

Pistons:

* 5 sets of rings

Block:

* Oil pressure sensor (gave mine away to Dana )

Gaskets: I'm sure I'm missing some

* Oil Pan
* Oil filter unit - not sure of a real name for that one
* Valve Cover
* Intake (phenolic possible?)
* Throttle body
* Exhast Manifold
* All turbo - inlet/outlet exhaust, oil feed/return
* Wastegate to exhaust mani and outlet
* Audi standard 2.25" exhaust clamps - between cats and resonators.

Clutch: Do you work with Southbend? Looking for street use, I hope the car never sees a track. Ultimate power goal of 450awhp.

Misc:

* Exhaust manifold studs/nuts
* Power steering hose - reservoir to pump
* Timing belt kit
* Uprated motor and tranny mounts - street density
* Oil check valve
* Oil pump? Mine worked great, but again, 254k I assume I should replace
* Injector seals? - the pieces in the intake manifold

Input please :-D

thread lock, greases, lubes for assembly?

just buy a engine gasket and seal kit, it should have everything you need and might be cheaper than buying ala cart

From Audi an overhaul gasket set, all models - 2.2l, 2.3l dohc - 2.2L, 2.3L DOHC is $115.20

wow from the dead - I was just reading through my thread since I'm having 200 withdrawls...

well, I have all the motor parts sitting in a box next to my car in VT; doesn't do me any good being in NYC. Good news is that I just took a job with IBM in VT and will be near my car once again so I can do something with those parts.

I'm thinking I need to either make my rear wheels more narrow (8.5" like the front) or make the fronts wider (10.5" to match the rear) and then find some flares to make use of some 285's all around....

8.5" would be the sensible solution, plus I think I like the look of the smaller dish on the 8.5 with the 200. Not to mention it'd be a shame to cut into the body on this car.

Your a funny guy, your not in NYC, your just north of White Plains. Ill take you to the east side of the Bronx, then you will be in the city. lol

I think its time you get the motor built and get her back to running. Its been too long.

it's easier to say nyc then explain it... plus im in Manhattan at least once a week.

screw this place.

It has been time to build that motor since it was taken apart in September of 2009. It's going to remain a slow process...
