Audilard wrote:The engine didn't quite make it out last Saturday, but almost. Definitely this week. Saturday morning I sat in front of the computer and watched Jim's video of Laguna and stared longingly at those fenders and 275s. Damn you Jim. It motivated me though to get in the garage.

Get rods in.

Get 01E.

B4 rear fenders and pray 255s can squeeze under.

Damn you Jim Green.

:D Mance ran 255's on his B4, you can do it!

With 255's and 265's it gets tricky as far as what manufacturer you can go with due to varying section widths. Some will fit, some won't.

Got the engine out earlier today and trucked in down to the Lab. I hope I can find some time to dismantle in the next couple weeks. Rods, coated mains, main studs, header, turbo upgrade with Tial housing, Tial waste gate, cleaned and reassembled. Can't wait.

Starting to prep the engine bay as well. Taping and bagging things up the best I can, power wash everything until it's spotless and rattle can it. It's quite dirty, more than I expected. I forgot how much I enjoyed wrenching and being in the garage.

Late night last night in the driveway with a borrowed pressure washer. I'm sure my neighbors loved me. I've got the engine bay all sprayed out and cleaned and a nice weekend planned for paint. It's not going to be a perfect paint job, but it's going to look a lot nicer than what it does now.

Same paint color as Peter's CQ so I hope it looks as good when it's done. Here is his coupe painted. I think it will look good against my black car.

Woot! I feel behind everyone now. You with the motor update, Dave with his tuning, Hank with the new brain and rain tray, Johnnyman with his radiator swap. All I have are two cut up bumpers and no fiberglass materials. Seeing this is motivation to get going! Battleborn or bust :)

Keep up the good work!

What a different a little paint makes! It would have been nice to remove the ABS and brake vacuum, but I wasn't going for perfection. It looks, much, much better. Before and after:

As you can see, reassemble has commenced. Mustang energy mounts installed.

Now to get to the lab and get started on the motor!
