From stock to Euro lights the difference was huge and this has further improved upon that upgrade. I am very happy with them so far.extreme90path wrote:Headlights look great Nick! I bet they are 1000x better at night too.

Just wanted to chime in on the Optima batteries. I have three of them and the oldest one is 6 years old. The main thing that keeps them going I believe is that when they get discharged real low from a load while it doesn't have anything charging it, is to make sure to use a battery charger designed to charge gell cells. Snap-On has a nice one that charges just about any type of battery.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Thanks for the info!
I ended up not replacing the battery as of yet. I did go out and get a good battery tender to keep things in check as the car sits a lot now. We'll see how this works out.

What others have said about optimas. You have have to slowly trickle them back up when they are flat. Won't charge with a normal 12v charger doesn't mean they are dead. I'm going on nearly ten years with the yellow top in my 200.

They are also good with vibration and you can mount them at any angle or even upside down. I have a blue top mounted upside down in my rock crawler. You don't have to worry about acid or filling the batteries back up or the electrolytes sloshing back and forth during launches.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Thanks guys! I'll still consider one when the time comes.
Picked up a used flywheel from Colin, so that's one less piece of the swap in route.
Went to the dealer today and bought new flywheel bolts, pressure plate bolts, pilot bearing and clips and a bunch more of the grill clips (just in case).
Hopefully I'll take delivery of the 01E rebuild this weekend and can get that out of the way.
I may pull the 016 this weekend too if I'm feeling ambitious.
No word from Clutchnet yet on the shipment of my clutch though.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
All I'm saying is that I got a great deal on the trans going in the 200. Should be assembled tomorrow with the updated 1-2 collar, all new synchros and seals. Clutch came in the mail today and the rest of the swap parts should be here this week.
Getting close!

I just sacrificed my sleep to get it done, lol. I work 7pm to 7am and usually sleep all day. Pushed myself to wake up early and get it done. That and ditched the gym for the last two days :(

Flywheel is back from the machine shop and new pilot bearing has been installed:
New clutch:
Connector housing, boot and repair wire to hook up the reverse switch:
Transmission rebuilt, assembled and filled with G005000 (016 fluid, hopefully works well):
Random new OEM hardware (flywheel bolts, PP bolts, tranny mount bolts, axle shield bolts and driveshaft shield bolts...some not pictured):
My horn works again!!!!
Also picked up this AWESOME broschure from eBay:
