Hey Jim,
I'm thinking of putting in 01e trans from my Urs4 into my 90q. How did you work the linkage rods? I would love to see some close up pictures of your setup. Thanks

Jim, that's a bummer with the wife's horse. Are you still going to be in the wife and horse support mode tomorrow?

Check out my gallery, there are a ton of pics in the 01E section. Bottom line keep the linkage parallel and perpendicular when in neutral.

This weekends project, effing bumpers

I swore you had just finished, painted and all back together. Digging into it again?

This is where a 100k 5-axis comes into its own. Perfect mold ready after a gel coat to make parts.

Jim Green's 90q 20vt - The quest for 275's

Post by audifreakjim »

Nope, not quite finished, the front bumper is very close to finished, just some cleaning up to do. The rear is up next, hopefully I can have the mounts sorted by the end of tomorrow. Then on to more fiberglass.

Slowly chipping away at this, the rear bumpers have a rough form to them, now just some sanding and filler. The Fiberglass extends behind the bumper about the same amount as visible in the picture. No idea how this is going to work long term. I plan to make a valley between the fiberglass and the bumper plastic, and fill it with Evercoat flexible bumper filler. I am hoping this buffers some of the expansion of the dissimilar materials. If it cracks, I'll just cover it with tiny bits of race rubber :)

Shaved fogs or unshaved? Or should I take a picture of the fogs and have it printed on vinyl and make a simulated fog?

I vote for unshaved. Darins car looks great in black with the solid bumper,it just doesnt look right on on yellow...seems like its missing something to me.

Since you've got the fiberglass out you should do brake duct vents...

Lol, that looks slick, nice drop too. Maybe I will airbrush those on, I still have full rebar behind the front bumper that fills the fog location.
