Remember thr new 2.5L is chain drive and the oil pump is located where thr subfrane resides on our cars. The oil pan is modular, but it is a structual portion on the part that need to be trimmed.
The answer to that starts with D, ends with P and costs $$$.
Sorry to hear you can't make it up. I guess there is always next year. I vote to shave it. I think it looks better without the trim on the sides since there is no black trim on top of the bumpers. Quick question for ya. Where did you get the vents that are on your hood? Couldn't find anything in your thread about them. Maybe I'm blind.

Don't look at that car, Jim. Its perfection is distracting. You have enough detail by way of the crease on the doors and front fender. If you lost trim on the bumpers, might as well lose it on the side....but it is YOUR car =)

If you want good looking body work, the last person to ask for help, is me.
I guess I might not be understanding something here. What exactly then does "shaving" mean? You remove the trim, clean up and that's it, no? I thought middle trim on the 90s was glued on, no studs/holes like on the CQs. What do you need body filler for??
Come on Jim! There's a fine line between having a cool car or a car that is too cool. It's getting to that point. Take it easy on the rest of us will you!
The middle trim you can just pull off, and sand down the sticky goo behind it. The one vrt swapped car though seems to have filled in the little 'valley' that those trim pieces leave behind/cover up.

Yep, fill in the valley. Since the bumpers will be smooth, an the trim will be gone I might as well make the doors smooth. I was worried about loosing details on the car, but the flares will be enough detail.
Here are some details on the rear fenders that never made it up before BBQ.
First, a random Vegas pic from Surrender that I found while looking through my phone:) And I wonder why this project is dragging..

Here is my homebrew hood for the fresh air supply that is feed by a bucket top shop vac running in reverse in blower mode. There is 40 feet of hose running from upwind outside of the garage.
