H, I liked the camber plates a lot, but I think I had just a bit too much caster for these uber stiff R888 tires. Caster was -6.75 degrees, camber was -1 static. The inside half of the tire was doing all the work according to wear and temp. The handling was about the same as dialing a bit more camber from the camber bolts, but without the hastle. I think a bit less camber and or caster next time will be perfect. Or maybe the nitto NT01's will be softer and roll over a bit more. We'll see, definitely some fine tuning to be done.

Good to know. With castor added you should be able to Ron almost zero camber due to camber gain from the castor. I would try -0.1-2 camber and 5.5 castor and see what the tire temps say.

How heavy was the steering? And how was the auto return to center?

Keep us posted

H

Steering was not heavy at all and return to center was good, I had plenty of sideways action when my tires went and kept it gathered the whole time, even across the rumble strip :)

It's hard to believe that you get that good of a video off of your phone. The picture is great, the sound is good, and the angle is perfect. It made me all excited all over again. I was a little surprised that the preview we saw on your phone that night showed up at the end of the movie. Ha Ha I liked it!!

Hell yes I'll be there next year! I love that track, it's probably the most challenging track in our area so I feel like there is always something to learn.

It's funny how the camera starts to wobble above 100mph, not sure it's the windshield, or interior wind.

Looks like a good track event was had!

Jimmy, how much caster did you gain from the knuckle/hub swap?

Good stuff, Jimmy! I see you added brake ducting. Did you test it with or without, by chance? Curious...

The track looks pretty good, involving with some off-camber turns..but that back section with a lot of tight turns seems really narrow...almost like go kart track, no?

Not sure if it was part of a cart track, they can run lots of different configs there.

I didn't test the brakes without the ducts, but I did not get any hint of hot brakes this event. The last two events I have had to back off and let them cool, so I am happy.

For the knuckle swap, it will move the wheels forward an just under an inch, so figure 1.5-2 degrees

Peter, the camera lies a little. Spring mountain is super wide throughout, I think the minimum width at any point is ~44' and the newest section "the bus stop" is IIRC 52-55' wide.

Nice. I've been debating this idea for a while. Get on that body work yet?!

I have not even cleaned the car from track event, need to buff out that cone-scrape, argh!

I need help at work, need to hire more Systems Engineers in SoCal, must have broad IT experience especially around virtualization and storage technology. If anyone is interested or knows anyone looking, PM me and help me get back into the garage!

Yes, Jarrid.

The adapter can be found at pretty much any race shop, porterfield, earls, summit, etc. Do you need a restrictor built in?

Made some progress on the urs fenders yesterday, they are being held in place by self-tapping screws, next step is to slowly cut around the profile and weld them inch by inch. Once the front is done and I am confident in my body work skills, I'll dive into the rear and the bumpers.

Here are the 275's, the car is sitting on the bump stops in all the pics, so it will be about 1.5" higher which is about perfect.

Nice Jim!

What are the arches from? (Did I miss this in your thread somewhere?)

Advice, get some nice thin wire and tips for the mig, see if you can find 0.020" or 0.025"

Nice! Welding that without warping all around is going to be tough. I'd be tempted to just rivet the flares on...nothing wrong with that.
