Thanks for the offer, I'll probably end up doing it down in the Springs unless Preston feels like getting his new garage floor dirty one weekendMcstiff wrote:Let me know when its going in, I'll be happy to lend a hand.

So I've been toying with the IIc closed loop boost control for the past couple of days, and finally got it figured out today. I've been using Saab APC valves since I had a couple laying around. The reason it took me a while is because I had to much preload on the WG spring and it was making hard for the valve to control.
Anyways, this kicks ass! I have it programmed so it stays within a few psi of the target, so I still have a little fine tuning to do, but so far it works very well for keeping the turbo from surging. :woowoo: I can't wait to show you guys this power curve on a dyno plot. :-D

OMFG, what a weekend. The drive up to Keystone was one of the best I've ever had, and the Azenis 615's are great in the rain BTW
We then rented downhill bikes and hit the trails, they do an amazing job up there, Paid in Full is a freaken sick trail.
Today I finished the side exit exhaust for good, I've gone through what feels like 20 revisions and have settled on a hollow cat with a pipe through it, to an 18" Dynomax bullet muffler, to a Borla XR-1 to Dynomax Ultraflow muffler, and then out the side. So three strait through mufflers gets the noise right where I want it.
The closed loop boost control is just retarded. I did a 4th gear pull up I-70 from 4000 rpms to 5600 rpms at WOT without a hint of surge. The turbo also spools faster now, between that and the new exhaust, it feels like a different car now in that it's much more street friendly.
Here's a few pics offf the Zeitronix data logger showing the boost curve in 4th. I had a target of 280 kPA, but the turbo could not get there at 10,000 ft. and maxed out at 272 kPa

Strait E85, here's one of the threads on it.

Word on the street is no more CO emission testing starting sometime next year. I guess a "cat" is a federal thing though.audifreakjim wrote:Today I finished the side exit exhaust for good, I've gone through what feels like 20 revisions and have settled on a hollow cat with a pipe through it, to an 18" Dynomax bullet muffler, to a Borla XR-1 to Dynomax Ultraflow muffler, and then out the side. So how much rain did you see? I have wondered about the 615's in it, picked the hankooks because of rain concerns, any puddles/hydroplaning?
