This is too much fun. I tossed a gallon of toluene in the tank because I got a really bad batch of gas, then got out the dynolicious.

I actually tried to get to the dyno yesterday for a quickie, but they were all booked up. 600 wheel might be a little optimistic, but it is quite the handful even in 3rd gear wheels are spinning and it is torque steering all over the road, lol!

Car is up on ramps, we did a drive to Julian this weekend and I developed a clunk when on and off throttle, and the car is really hard to shift in 1-3rd. I think I probably broke a mount or something. Initial inspection hasn't turned anything up, looks like I need to get the gloves and the lube out. Good thing the wife is out of town.

Got the disk from the photographer tonight, dropping some easter eggs along the way. Still have some sorting to do.

Are you talking about the Cobra Head in front of the turbo? Not an issue at ~500whp I can tell you that. I will however be watching it on the dyno to make sure it is not collapsing at all.

It really hurts having a wide body car next to the worst fenders ever made. I wish these two would just get with it one night and birth a wide body 90.

I think I am going to mask off the A6 and lay up 1 or 2 layers of glass over the fender, pop it off and see what it would take to put it on the rear. From what I can tell, the A6 4.2 fenders are about 40 mm wider than the type 89 rear. That means i could fit a 275 :) I have a plan for the front as well :)

For a short term fix I may put a stripe along the bottom and diagonally up the back covering the fender work like the Audi Sport Race cars in black or white.

Poor Banana. The little guy had to be around a dozen factory widebodies in vegas and go home to big brother and his gorgeous curves?

Jim would the 034 glass fender flares work on the 90?

They may, but I also have other plans, like shortened RS6 side skirts. If I can copy the 4.2 fenders, they will transition really well

I'll be curious to see what you come up with for the fenders as I will not settle for the stupid tiny ones on my B3. Not happenin' at all. I plan to fit 10" wide wheels.

How would you ever match that paint exactly on the 90? That was the first thing that came to mind. That shade of yellow I would guess is just as hard to match as a pearl paint.

Thing about the a6 fenders is that they are way bigger diameter openings. You will have to run taller tires like the a6(it has 20s on them right now right?)

You gotta figure out a way to make the opening smaller for the smaller car.

Maybe urS6 front fenders are a possibility? They look filled with 245-30-17s

I was thinking the same they would be to large as well, then I measured the B4 fenders and they are very close. It was a quick measure. I agree, the urs6 would probably be a good fit.

I run a 225/45-17 on my wife's A6, which is the same size I would on the CQ if I daily drove it. I've had the exact same tire, on the same spec wheel, on the CQ and A6 (my 225/50-16 DOTR's on 16x7.5 et35 wheels, 4x108 and 5x112). Fills both wheel wells the same, really. Now, the sedan was only supposed to have a 205/50-15 or a 195/60-15 from the factory, so it isn't a 24.7" tire like the other cars, but still, it may be closer than you think to fitting, Hank.

I say you get Weldon to send you two sets of front urS6 fenders. Cut the flares off the front and put them on the right sides. Then I say you cut off the other front sets, and flop them left to right in the rear, effectively turning them around. Weld em on, or bond them. Those flares are huge. I think they are probably bigger then even the a6's.

Eric, you are talking v6 flares, not v8 ones. The v8 a6 cars came with 255-40-17s on 8" wide wheels. THese are usually 25.4" tall wheels...

Check out what the Tire Rack says about the 255's on 8" wide wheels that they always condemn.

Audi mounts a 255/40-17 tire on the 17x8 wheel. Most tire companies suggest using a 8.5 - 10.0 width rim. We will also allow 8" rims to be sold using the 255/40 tire.

Does anybody know the oem tire that came on the a6 4.2?
