Ikea: 1991 Coupe Quattro FS

Post by Mcstiff »

Considering going all Darin and sell my Coupe with all urI5/Coupe parts :boom: This is a short time offer, directly influenced by something cool that I want (likely to be NLA after this week).

As you'd guess, in general it is a 170k mile Coupe with some nits but also generally clean, rust free, and with ~300whp (I'll dyno it once the clutch is in). What it is not is Dave's Pearl S2++ but the price range I have in mind reflects this, and is somewhere between what a clean Coupe is (~$4500) and the high water mark of VEMS big turbo & built bottom end Coupes (What $18K?)

So the quick rundown is:

1991 Coupe Quattro 17x,xxx k miles
Lower mileage (~15x,xxx K) 7a engine
5x112 S2 Hubs
"RS2" Ellipsoidal Headlights
S2 Bumpers (rear needs to be painted)
VEMS Econo-Seal using flying lead harness
Iroz Intake Manifold
034 External WG log EM
Tial WG
Holset H1C (HX35 turbine housing w/vband outlet)
3" turbo back
FMIC
Rear strut bar
H&R Springs
Delrin front A-arm bushings
16" urS wheels with Blizzaks (other wheels negotiable)
New OEM Radiator

Parts to be included:
Oil Cooler
Spare 7a engine (sans cams)
A litany of spare CQ parts
B4 Hood and "core" support (need paint)
HPR Poly subframe bushings (when complete)

Things it needs:

As you'd expect I have a whole build list but there are some low hanging fruit which I'll be working on in the next week. The main, huge, need is a clutch as the stock 7a version has given up the ghost. I am about to order one but will be happy to accommodate the preference of a buyer with deposit; otherwise it will likely be a ClutchNet Stage 5. Aside from the clutch, "needs" are minimal. The windshield needs replacing but I may be able to get that done. I've put about 13,000 miles on it with the turbo as is. Installing the Oil Cooler is on my short list for the spring as is tracking down a small drip.

As it's the middle of the night I'll leave you with a pic from later last summer

Well, as you can tell, I bought the 90 so this is more serious.

Things I plan on doing by June, at which point the price goes up (think Ikea vs. Restoration Hardware):

Clutch (leaning toward CN 6 puck sprung disk with 3b PP)
Subframe bushings, trans mounts, and rear diff bushings
General once over: clean, tighten, service, and alignment
Dyno Tune for "Premium" (91 OCT in CO) and E85 so the buyer can choose to not mess with VEMS so much and so we can put a safe number to the 7at
I'll likely spray the S2 bumpers and B4 hood

Of course, I don't really have the time to work on the above till the middle of May so I'm going to leave this ad here, until I feel like I can market it to a wider audience. If anyone is interested and has about $7,500 (negotiable & I'd take a PES G2 SC+cash  ) for a work in progress (which needs all the things I've mentioned), let's talk!

Worst case, once I get the above done, I end up with "His" eS2 and "His & Hers" eRS2/Comp 80 thing :hide:
