Daily drove her for a little over a year including a trip to SLC where I rode in Ben L's s2 coupe, did a mountain cruise with Dave picaro with one of his b4 1.8t, and another 90, can't remember details. After that summer I knew I needed to turbo charge my car.

Dec 2014 I found a 1995 URs6 avant from Colorado with some proper mods and a solid running car, except it was not pretty. Broken headlights, bumpers, faded, rock chipped and rusty, looked as if it had seen some salty snow mounts. Car arrived Christmas Eve, drove it till New Years and on a car club cruise during the 1 day of whatcoms snow Jan 4th, a subaru came around a corner too fast and totaled the drivers side fender, wheel, and inter cooler. Insurance payed for it all

I know a lot of you have helped me through input and knowledge through other groups/pages but I wanted a place to start documenting my build only on PP. Here is my main photos page for anything I will post.

I have yet to meet pat. I've seen some of his 5 cyl parts at the local powder coaters with his name on it. My dad has spoken with him but I'll get in touch with him now that I have access now

The guy that bought the interior from Vlad is my buddy JJ but I don't think he has an account here yet, he's got a lago Blue 80 Quattro and a 200 20V Avant. He has the interior in but needs me to weld some serts in to bolt the seats down.
Between the three of us we are going to be bringing up the old school audi content in the area by a large percentage, Ha.
There is another guy that has a 3B swapped coupe in town I believe also named Chris .

Is JJ from Bellingham? I see an 80 quattro by work all the time, always parked, never on the street but it moves around. Ive seen everyone but Pat I think, lots of UR-S cars i feel like.

I almost have my AAN in longblock form. Gotta tighten my ii rods, not sure how, ive heard different directions of doing it. Then 7a oil pan, rear main flywheel+clutch. few hoses here and there. Using VEMS with the 7a to aan adapter. Gotta get that wired in.. Hard to get worktime in the daylight, living out in sudden valley. When it rains it pours too.

Good evening, got a nice cruise in tonight up 542 E to 9 S, then lake whatcom on home!
Okay, heres first of many questions to come.
Im using a b3 vacuum break booster to get rid my oh so leaky bomb.
I have a 20v p/s pump, Im using the aan p/s pulley to remain serpentine setup
which bracketry do i use to make it work on aan block?
I have each mount for all p/s types for our cars
7a mount
aan mount
20v mount
EFI Express has a 20v bracket conversion

Whats the proper way to torque the integrated engineering rod studs?
im using 7a oil pan for clearance, should I keep the aan windage tray or go with 7a?
which order does the oil pan gasket go between the windage tray and block?

JJ has a lago blue 80 Quattro that he drives right now but will be tearing apart soon. I live out in Ferndale now so I've lost touch on whos got what... never see any Audis out here! Tim has a really nice 1995 Pearl S6 Avant that is getting a fully built and tuned engine right now.
There are also quite a few friends I have that have really fast B5 S4s that are well above the "stage 3 " off the shelf K04 level. But they don't know what a real car is

Let me see if I can jog my memory as I went through all this on my coupe.
I used almost all AAN stuff.
Remind me which intake manifold you plan to run?
If you run an AAN intake manifold, and AAN water pipe the bracket that Hank sells will not clear all those items.
I don't have any pics of my coupe that I can find right now but I ran the AAN setup, serp belt, tensioner, brackets, intake manifold, water pipe.
For the B3 booster I ran a stock Power steering rack, and B4 90 PS pump. but I would recommend finding a 4000 rack or similar if you can. Basically one that came from a car that runs vacuum boost because your stock rack has provisions for the bomb , extra lines.

I don't remember what I torqued my conn. rods to, but you want to double and triple check your bearing fitment , use oil or engine assembly lube, and continue rotating the engine by hand as you tighten them down to make sure nothing is tight and binding up.

Thank you, I did not realize there were 2 gaskets. Ill talk to parts dept. tomorrow for that second gasket.

I've made some good progress over the new year.

Rear subframe is being assembled, soon I will add wheels and roll it under the car after I install the new tie rod ends.
Only need to order tie rods and swaybar end links to complete rear subframe.
I've chosen all track density bushings/mounts , poly subframe bushings/control arm bushings.
Replaced wheel bearings, lower ball joints, all 8 CV boots
I broke the rear most differential mount, snapped off one corner of the bolt holes... already had junked the 89' quattro parts car, still need to sorce one of them. Any tips on removing the bushing from that mount?


Yesterday is was the 2 year mark I pulled the AAN from the 95' Ur-S6 Avant
Ive been messing with different p/s pump options and came to deciding the B4 pump in the AAN bracket, checking picknpull this weekend for b4 v6 p/s pump and a 4000 driveshaft hopefully for 50% off weekend.
The b3 20v steering rack is cleaned up with a new boot on, ready to be installed, with new steering end links.

I will do the same as the rear subframe to the front subframe when I am figuring out the installation of VEMS,
as well as replacing 2 doors, fenders, bonnet wind shield, and removing battery box, and rerouting the battery cables from the back.
Thats all for tonight. mostly just an update.

Slow progress.. I wish it'd stop raining!

On the rear subframe:
Installed my caliper brackets, brake shields and rotors.
One axle is in, didn't realize I forgot a C clip at the end of the inner CV joint.
I may be missing the sleeve spacer for the short C.A side swaybar linkage, FCPEURO has 10$ each.
I just need to fill differential w/ mance mix gear oil recipe and she can be INSTALLED!!

The body:
Interior is stripped minus headliner. Cleaned the base floor, seat rails and everything else while its like this.
I replaced the passenger side doors, I need to install the new fenders and hood.

The drivetrain:
I need to swap 01e axle cups with b5 a4 rear cups for my 100mm stock axles for now.
Transmission is seals and cups from being installed, plus mance mix.
4000 driveshaft has new carrier bearing and awaits install

April 6th I get to pull my car into the garage finally, to install the trans and engine. Might get another post sometime in that week.

01E transmission is in with Iroz rs2 replica mounts,
I am just waiting on my pilot bearing (which I thought would have come with clutch kit from 034...)
Steering rack, linkages are all in, refinished brake booster will be next, along with ABS lines and harness routing.

Engine is awaiting on the stand for rear main, torque oil pan bolts and start flywheel/clutch disc/PP assembly,
then transplant!

Interior bits are being collected for a total black interior. I may be going down to Toledo, WA
for carpet/insulation and various trim pieces I am missing from a parts car.

On my EFIX ls2 coil conversion VEMS PNP harness there is a fused power wire, I am wondering whats a common 15 power to put that in, maybe if somebody has a diagram for it that would be great!!
