CAR HAS SOLD!!!

$4,500 is the price as-is. Let's get this a new home.

Got my laptop back today. Here's the ad!

Hey everyone! I’ve decided that it’s time for the 200 to find its next home. I have had a blast with this car and I hope someone can continue the good times. Here’s a list of what makes up this build:

Exterior:
• V8 quattro front bumper
• E-Code headlights with relayed harness
• V8 quattro tail lights

Interior
• Nardi steering wheel and hub adapter
• VEMS LCD screen mounted in former coin tray location
• Gauge bezels from C4 A6
• Refinished wooden shift knob
• VDO boost gauge mounted in left-most vent

Suspension
• Ground control coil over kit with 450# front springs and 400# rear springs
• Bilstein sport shocks
• Powerflex front sway bar bushings
• New stock front subframe bushings (uninstalled)
• New front control arms
• Powerflex rear diff mount
• Energy suspension rear trap bushings
• Apikol rear subframe bushings (uninstalled)
• New stock rear outer control arm bushings (uninstalled)
• AP Racing 4-pot front brakes and 2 piece rotor
• 17x9 et24 Saleen Motorsport replica wheels (M14 to M12 studs and wobble nuts)

Engine (12k miles)
• VEMS Plug and Play ECU
• 24psi tune
• 034 coated main bearings
• ARP main studs
• SCAT connecting rods
• OEM rod bearings
• Multi-layer compression dropping head gasket
• ARP head studs
• 7A cams
• Phenolic intake spacer
• Iroz Motorsport intake manifold
• 870cc Siemens Deka Injectors
• Bosch 044 fuel pump
• Custom FMIC with 3” plumbing
• Epic ebay exhaust manifold with T3 flange tig’d on
• Biagio GT35 journal bearing turbo 0.82 A/R
• AN oil supply and return
• EFI Express boost control solenoid
• 4” HKS Filter
• 3” turbo back exhaust with cat (hollow) and single muffler
• 034 High-Output coil kit
• TAP strut bar
• Griffin radiator

The car has been perfectly reliable since the build. I have recently done a leakdown test and the results are not good. They are:
Cyl 1: 22%
Cyl 2: 19%
Cyl 3: 36%
Cyl 4: 26%
Cyl 5: 36%

The motor will need to have this addressed, but in the meantime it starts, runs, and drives and does not burn any oil. 24psi feels awesome too, but you’ll need to be sure to empty the catch can after spirited driving because of the leakdown.
There is an issue with the starter and flywheel where the starter will disengage mid start. I have had the starter out of the car and rebuilt so I know it is ok. Inspecting the flywheel while still in the car didn’t reveal anything to me, but I would check it with either the motor or trans removed.

There is also cosmetic damage to the roof from me driving my roof rack and bike into the garage... Please see those photos below.

This car has placed well at shows and it a hell of a good time!

There’s plenty more, but I’ll let that come through conversations with interested people.

Please do not ask for parts, THIS CAR WILL NOT BE PARTED. Please do not lowball, this car does not need to sell, I want it to sell.
The price is set at $4,500

Please contact me through PM here or at caseyo.hara20 (at) gmail (dot) com

Thanks for looking!

Been going back and forth on this for a while now.... My 200 20v was awesome and I miss it. Do you have any photos of the underside?

Casey, it was great talking last night, I really appreciate your desire to be honest. And in that spirit, what can you foresee for work that will be needed in the near future (besides the rings of course)

Great talking with you as well!

This car is chock full of good parts, but even good parts go bad eventually. Given the span of time it took to build this, the parts I started with are requiring attention.

- Shocks are getting soft. They are stock valved Bilstein Sports.
- Front brake rotors will need to be replaced soon.
- Front Strut mounts. I do have a set from a UrS6 that appear to be in good shape.
- Transmission whines in 3rd and grinds into reverse. I can thank myself for that because I ran this new to me 'used' transmission without fluid for 50 miles. Didn't realize it was stored dry and didn't think to check the fluid before setting off :(
- Shifter movement is a bit vague; I'm led to believe a bushing in the shifter assembly would address that
- Needs a proper alignment
- Catalytic converter emptied itself. My state only requires a visual inspection, so this has not affected my ability to inspect the vehicle.
- The car comes with the following (currently not installed)
>Apikol rear subframe bushings
>OEM Front subframe bushings
>Front inner and outer CV boot kits
- There is no ISV installed. This is annoying for cold starts when it's cold out. I have a Ford idle air control valve to go with the car. Aftermarket adapters are available to make that IAC a remote mountable unit.
- The waterneck weeps when the engine is cold. Likely needs new o-rings as they are original.
- I would suggest transmission mounts as they are also original. They are not torn, but with the poly engine mounts, it would make sense to pair them with a comparable transmission mount.

I'm trying to draw a line between the vehicle's "needs" and my personal "annoyances." If I think of others, I will add them.

How much do you think it would cost to build this motor to 500 whp? I'm looking to maybe sell my G60 Corrado and get into an i5, car looks tidy

Rings and a hone, MAYBE a set of stock pistons if there's det... Depends if you're doing the teardown yourself or paying someone. Parts would be under $300 including good used pistons, labor... $1k? At least?

Woah, sorry I need to subscribe to my own thread!!

Car is built for that power. Matt's right on with what I've estimated. Car is in Morrisville, VT.

Also, no evidence of knock from the plugs. They've always been a happy light brown, free of shiny specks.

...I thought you still had an 016? If not then excuse me :P

Good luck with sale, it's actually mind blowing this is still on here. I can't believe no one has bought this to dismember it for a small chassis.

I secretly dream about coming to buy this just for all of these parts on my own T44 hahaha!

GLWS!

Haha too true. I haven't done a good job of trying to shatter that 016.

And away she goes... Someone got one hell of a deal even with what issues it had. Maybe it's a new chapter. Hopefully we will see more of her on here.

not much to report, made the drive home fine. my road is bumpy (especially this time of year) and I had to be in 2nd most of the way up. Aside from finding the M1 catch can overflowing after the drive to Groton it hasnt really pushed too much out. Although i am not getting into high boost all that much, the only possible concern is the fact that it is milky white when i pour the used oil out. Not sure if this is just due to the 'frothing' as the coolant seems fine..... but either way im super excited to be the new owner and will do my best to keep it in good shape (although i do have a 5 year old daughter ;) )

Washed it today and put it away, hopefully for the rest of the winter.
