Opening up Shop: ITS OFFICIAL!!!

So, I finally got the business paperwork all filled out and mailed off to the state. Now I have to pay taxes dammit :wah:

(My current day job has motivated me enough to finally finish this crap and get my own official thing going)

I am now in the process of putting together a business plan for the bank and am planning on leasing out a small building to get started in. I will be doing general repair and expanding the fabrication side of the business since I'm already equipped for any kind of auto repair job (minus having a lift and shop).

So this is just a heads up for interested parties, but I will be seeking out at least one FT hourly mechanic to help me with the workloads. As the workload increases, so will the number of mechanics/techs. If you are interested, just shoot me a PM here or on facebook. Or call, I dont give a shit.

For the time being, the plan is to open up in Post Falls or in Coeur d'Alene. Post Falls seems to be the better choice as it's closer to the race tracks but it also depends on location.

Exciting times

Congrats!! Hope you have some help with the business plan... or that the bank isn't too picky about it - writing one will be a full time job in itself.

This is awesome man! Congrats and Good luck!

My one work of advice would be start developing products outside of our little old Audi community as well... I know that's not likely what others on here want to hear but our market is tiny compared to something like E30/E36. Not here to start a big fuss about that but just saying, as far as a business goes, feed the hungriest markets!

also, I swear I still want to do that big bushing/mount order... I just realized that I need lots of other things before that... :)

I agree with that. If you really want to do good business, it'll have to be in other markets. Just don't forget about us! Those markets are already saturated with great products, but there is some room for simple and cheap solutions.

Yes I agree with the other markets. That is a big reason why I am expanding into a shop. I simply dont have the room in a garage to go after everything. I plan to start with the mopar and modern audi markets and grow out from there. I need a big variety. No way I could ever contain myself to one area. Id get bored after a while

So quick update.

Found a local vw/audi shop that I have a huge interest in buying. The owner is putting all the financials together for me currently.

Its a small little shop that needs a LOT of cleaning up but its a steady and profitable business that wont require any additional investments to keep running. After some cleaning up, there will be room for welding and fabrication so I can attack HPR full on. It currently has 2 employees who are great at what they do.

So if this goes through, there will be a HUGE garage sale. Im guessing at least $5000 in random aircooled parts, $1000 in cats laying around everywhere, $500 in scrap metal, etc etc. Lots of NOS parts.

I figure after 2 years, I'll be in a position to expand into a newer and more modern building. It currently has 2 lifts with room for 3 but that will be down the line if business is plenty.

Good Luck! If that fails, AngryTaco would make a good food truck name.

Well, the way it's working out, I may be closing on this shop later this week.

We negotiated a price yesterday, and now we are moving forward with the actual transition

Don't forget about C3 Type 44

I would be down for some tubular lightweight rear control arms and a carbon fiber single piece driveshaft, a carbon fiber trunk lid, a carbon fiber hood with a 2" cowl and heat extracting louvers on each side... :D

The tubular control arms are on the list. The carbon fiber stuff....IDK right now as that will require more space than what I will have to work with. Within a few years though would be doable
