Now I am finally able to make aluminum sleeves without outsourcing to the machine shop.
Who wants some cool shizzle made? Should be here middle of this week

For what I need it for it will be perfect. It should help sales and product line as well as cutting costs hugely

Agreed. Im still relatively new to machine work so this will be an extremely cheap way to learn how to operate bigger and better stuff in the future

I got a Mini Machine Shop mini mill and it is good for small stuff but it is so small lol!
I've since seen a few good deals on full sized units on CL but this doesn't take much space, is easy to move if needed and was delivered to my door.

Just be careful because the mini lathes can be as dangerous or more than a big one! You WILL make mistakes on it, and it's definitely cheaper to replace mini lathe tools than full sized ones

Yeah thats why I want to learn on something cheap while I save up for a full size one so I can make destroked crankshafts for the 3.6 v8 lol!

i also got a little lathe for myself for my housewarming gift to the new place.
Grizzly 9x19 with a LOT of extra stuff. got from a friend of a friend so i only paid $600. was >$1400 all together not including extra tooling, etc. came with the stand and all...
i have yet to get it here to the shop, but i already know what i want to make first haha.
and a friend is hooking me up with a spare DRO he has around, and some misc mic's and calipers and other tooling.. that will be neat.

That's pretty much the exact lathe I have, it does pretty well for small stuff. I don't use mine all that much, although its really nice to have around it is pretty size limited. Plus now I'd rather work on learning to play with the water jets, cnc mills and lathe at work.

No but I am going to look into it soon. I would love to be set up with a cnc lathe. I figure I need to teach myself the basics first before getting lazy

My 20v came with training wheels from the factory.
