UrS4 - misfire

Post by PRY4SNO »

Car misfires at idle & under throttle. Improves when warm. Pulled 2312, and replaced the G62 sensor.

Then I soldered a new 2-pin plug onto the engine harness because the old one broke apart when I touched it.

Still misfires.

Where should I look next?

If OE coils, look to the power output stages. You can swap them from a handful of other Audi/VW motors

Yep, only time I've had misfire at idle it's been because of coils.

That being said, usually I've experienced coils getting worse with heat... Could be vac leak if the car is still on MAF.

I too have a weird misfire but mine is only at low throttle after hard cornering… I think it may be related to blow by… (thread jack)

Dave K. on QW recommended to pull the red ECU power fuse to clear the codes... so I'll try that first then look into the POS & coils or injectors. Thanks guys!

No worries! Nice to keeps solutions to a common issue handy in one tidy location.

Reset the ECU, ran perfect first time I ran the car. Misfires again as soon as I cranked her over the next time tho.

Will try the injectors and POS tonight when I meet up with a buddy who has a urs6.

I'll try to get my POS off the fire wall tomorrow. If I can you can swap to see if it helps. They did not want to budge last time I tried lol
