everything was up and running just fine, i was making some simple idle adjustments in vemstune and when i hit burn the ECU lost communication with the latptop and the idle slowly dropped till the car shut off. i went key off and than key back on and my fuel pump primed for way longer than it was supposed to so i shut the key off again. key on one more time and no fuel pump prime and no communication with laptop. did i just manage to kill my VEMS ECU after having it working for one whole day? is there a way to recover the flash maybe?

boot mode. you loop rx and tx together for a few seconds when powered up.

did u reboot car and laptop and then no connection?

can u connect boot mode?

I had same issue with fuel pump when I fired one before. not that it means yours is done but not good.

hows the grounding in your car? I had have issue with different sw. using an old & new

Wow unlucky, if boot mode/rescue like Marc said doesn't work you might need to flash the chip with a new booloader using a jtag and set the fuses properly etc. If jtag won't recognize it, then your chip is likely dead. Make sure all your grounds are good and if you get it back up, ecu stays powered up (won't randomly reboot/sever connection with laptop) when cranking.

i pulled everything back out of the car and hooked it to my jimstim on my bench. i've changed the USB serial adapter, tried a different computer, and tried to put the ECU into boot mode and it wont respond. im so frustrated with this thing.

whats it going to cost me? i have all of about 200.00 to my name and i cant afford some huge bill.

free till I identify the cause at which point you can have it back for the cost of shipping or whatever it takes to fix it if you decide to go that route.
