you should say "Dun dun duuuuun" after that info for more dramatic effect.

Besides, we've all heard the same thing from (cough-arin) before and he's still just as hooked on smack as we are.

your argument is invalid banana z305.

LOL, exactly. Hank must be totally buried, can't wait to see it all put together. I wanna know the details on the engine build. For dad's, we're doing 9krpm and all it needs is springs (and ti retainers )!

Soon enough grasshoppa

Festivities didn't conclude until 9 last night with the closing cookout at the Iroz Ranch. Some folks are back at work already (me) and lots are traveling home today. There will be lots of pics and some vids of both the event and the car real sooooon :-)

Few updates. After building the bottom end, we needed to make a PS pump work on the accessory drive in order to have power steering in the Quattro. We CNC'ed a pulley and made the offset correct to be a plug and play on the stock AC location with OEM belts and tensioners. Works really nice, and the raised rails on the pulley help keep belts on past 7500

It is driving under it's own power with all gears forward and reverse. Need to button up a few loose ends and then it is calibration time on the ECU. Fun times ahead.

Awesome to see this thing in person this past weekend. Something my uneducated self was curious about but neglected to ask. Wideband sensor? I didn't see a bung anywhere. I'm Curious on the reasoning for that?

After seeing this I kinda really want an 07k as well. So thanks. There goes any financial stability I thought I might have.

Good catch. Philip. We just plain ran out of time, and didn't put any sort of a tune on it outside of guessing. We will add one on the downpipe this coming week.

I'm right there with you. Why waste the money on building an old 20v head when the 07K is available.

I'll add that we repeatedly beat this engine against a 7800 rpm redline without any hint of belt jump so I think 8k and slightly beyond is possible. I want to hear a 35psi e85 dyno pull @ 8 grand on this motor. stat.
