About 4 inches over the original Audi I5...
And even more if you use an OBH box!

From what I have seen the new style box will not fit in the stock tunnel because of the extra bulk, so a lot more needs to be done to the floow to make it fit, see cowboy's page (from Poland) on their 2-door quattro sedan with VR6 turbo and new style box.

Hank or Sean, Maybe I missed it, but what has been done to the 2.5 internally to make it boost friendly?

rods/pistons

Thanks. So I take it that everything else is completely stock. Has a set of turbo cams been thought of by chance? Just curious.

The stock bottom end can do ~400whp. No aftermarket cams on the market, yet.

e85 and stock they are only 10:1.... People are seeing 400whp on 91 octane. I still haven't heard a stock piston/rod failure, but there aren't that many pushed 2.5L setups.

What rods and pistons are being used? And what compression is the motor now?

DMforged plus JE's. Probably do 9.5:1 but maybe 10:1

Don't be pussy. Leave it at 10:1 with that magic juice should be np, right? =)

Getting back on track.
A few hours this afternoon got us here, stay tuned for the trick cam cover that's in the works.

Even if we add as much weight as Hank (98lb) ;o} We are still this much lighter than the previous setup. Significant weight reduction is apparent by the fender gap at the front.

Here is how much room we have on top at the upper core support

Huge gains made down low, room for a nice thick core for a low mount intercooler

Tucked in nicely is a dual pass radiator, and we aren't giving up any accessibility and still room for fans

This is a single-core, but promises way better surface area over the stock radiator

With consideration to all the fitment and measurements, they are worst-case scenario - the engine can and will move towards the rear by 3/4 of an inch once we get the proper transmission mounts fitted. The assembly is all sitting on standard RS2 transmission mounts.

Still have lots of supporting mods and parts required, but this is looking pretty promising as it comes together.
