Good god I love the look of stainless hard lines in an engine bay. Can't wait to do the same in mine.

So. Been doing some work here. Just a few pics to post. Lots more to follow soon.

Redid the stainless hard line. The first attempt was just a bit all over the place. It took a few more attempts to get it to where it is now. But I'm super happy with it. Also ditched the pink powdercoat and went with the nickel plated an hose ends and a semi gloss black powdercoat for try engine bay pieces. Looks much better.

Build looks great

Thanks for confirming the VR5 starter/034 FW!

Fwiw, the Passat AWT 1.8t starter has the same part# and the Pheaton VR6 starter have the same part# but end with "C".

interesting info there. i would be wary to say they would work though due to the fact that just a letter change on the end of a part number ive seen from VWoA being a large difference between the 2 parts.

Ya, the letter is a modification code... so it could be an updated version of the same part or a different part altogether. Here'a a good article on VW's numbering system - http://www.deutscheautoparts.com/newsar ... spx?NID=14

Yeah, what you say is true. But the odd thing is that the AWT starter has the same number with no prefix..

I bought a Pheaton starter(C prefix) for my project, I believe its safe to assume it will fit since the OEM spacer also comes off the Pheaton VR6. I will take some detailed pics of it when it arrives.

Got the intake manifold in my hands today. Gave the idea to my buddy in cardboard. Got handed back this.

Your buddy can weld.

Have to say... IMO you should ditch the fish-eye pics in favour of some macro or nicely framed close-ups. That aspect just hurts the eyes.

That's not even the fish eye it's just the wide angle! Lol.

Will do though. I aim to please.
